49ers Star Kyle Juszczyk Sends Blunt Message on Seahawks: ‘Not a Big Fan’

“Not a big fan of Seattle, to put it lightly,” star San Francisco 49ers RB Kyle Juszczyk said with a chuckle. “And so I like the Patriots‘ chances, man.”

That’s a little Super Bowl preview from Juszczyk, who appeared on the Rich Eisen show on Thursday to discuss, among other things, the Seahawks and Super Bowl LX. The Seahawks will take on the Patriots next Sunday in Levi’s Stadium, home of the 49ers. San Francisco had a chance to play in the Super Bowl in their own stadium, but fell in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs in Seattle.

“We’re both yapping, Rich. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t return the favor. But yes, both sides are yapping.”

Eisen is a veteran reporter and knew what follow-up question he should ask Juszczyk on why he doesn’t like the Seahawks. “Is that because you don’t want Seattle celebrating at Levi’s Stadium?” he asked.

“Hey man, they can celebrate wherever they want,” Juszczyk replied. “I know [the 49ers] would celebrate if we won a Super Bowl in their stadium. Honestly, I’m not too salty about that. And I would be very happy for [Seahawks OC] Klint Kubiak, [Seahawks QB] Sam Darnold, and [Seahawks TE] Eric Saubert. That’s about it.”

Kubiak, Darnold, and Saubert all spent time in San Francisco previously. Darnold backup up 49ers QB Brock Purdy in 2023, while Kubiak served as the 49ers’ passing game coordinator that same season. Meanwhile, Saubert spent a season with the 49ers just a year ago in 2024. Juszczyk clearly knows where his priorities lie.

Juszczyk didn’t want to spent too much time dissing his rivals in Seattle. As a true member of the 49ers, he buys into the rivalry, but he was also quick to praise the Patriots and laud their chances to win it all.

“But you know what, I golfed in the American Century Championship this past offseason with you, Rich, and [Patriots HC] Mike Vrabel was in my group,” Juszczyk continued. “And I had so much fun with him, and what a great, great guy [he] is. And what an incredible coach [he is] and job he’s done for the Patriots. And it just seemed like a very well-rounded team from top to bottom, and I feel like they can go in there and win themselves a ring.”

“I think we all know the answer there, but that’s a division rival, it’s a heated one, and every time we step on the field there [are] a lot of words exchanged,” Juszczyk said when Eisen pressed him again on why he doesn’t like the Seahawks. “And let’s just leave it at that, man. You never like your division rivals and it’s always a good matchup with them.”
