7 Of Alabama’s Remaining 9 Opponents Ranked Inside Top 25

The Alabama Crimson Tide did themselves no favors in Week 1 by losing to the Florida State Seminoles. Even though the loss looks better every day, with the Seminoles currently ranked Number 7 in the nation.

The remaining schedule for the 14th ranked Tide includes seven teams that are currently ranked, as well as one time that received votes for the Top 25.

The next ranked opponent that Alabama will see is the premiere matchup between the hedges at Georgia.

The game in Athens is a can’t miss, high leverage game every college football season. Last year it introduced Ryan Williams to the rest of the country. This year, Ty Simpson will look to make a name for himself against the 5th ranked team in the nation.

Both teams will have a bye week heading into the Week 5 game on September 27th.

Third Saturday In October

October is always a big month for the Crimson Tide. This year the team will have an uphill battle before hosting the Orange team from Knoxville.

One week after traveling to Athens, Alabama hosts the other Tennessee team, the Vanderbilt Commodores. This matchup is certainly circled on both calendars one year removed from the ‘Dores first ever victory over the Crimson Tide in Nashville last season. A major revenge spot for Alabama taking on the 20th ranked Commodores, who have two cupcakes coming up and should be 5-0.

Then they will take a trip to Missouri. The Tigers are 3-0 with a win over Kansas in a huge rivalry game. But of all the teams in this stretch, they are by far the least proven. They take on South Carolina as the 23rd ranked team this week in a matchup that will tell us a lot.

Then there is the Volunteers. Coming off a loss to Georgia, the Volunteers fall to number 15 and are in must win territory. This game will be played at Bryant-Denny and, if the Tide can’t beat Georgia next week, could end the playoff hopes of one of the two teams.

Alabama ends the month with a game against South Carolina, who have an equally difficult schedule. The Gamecocks would love to play spoiler on an Alabama team that barely survived their last meeting.

LSU, Oklahoma, Auburn

You talk about built in motivation. November starts as it always does, with the LSU Tigers. This iteration of the Tigers might be the best since Joe Burrow’s 2019 champions. They are the third ranked team in America after beating Clemson and Florida. Luckily it is the first of three straight home games.

The next challengers will be the Boomer Sooners. Another revenge spot for a team that humiliated Kalen DeBoer’s Crimson Tide in a late season blow out loss. Oklahoma has a new quarterback and is humming, earning the number 11 ranking in this weeks poll.

A late season cupcake leads into the final contest of the regular season. The Iron Bowl will be at Jordan Hare this November. Auburn has Jackson Arnold at quarterback, the same play caller who beat the Tide in Norman, Oklahoma last season. He is a Heisman front runner and has his Auburn Tigers ranked 22nd this week.

Alabama wants to make the college football playoff, they’re going to have to beat the best of the best to do it.
