Aaron Glenn Just Sent a Message Every Jets Fan Needs to Hear

The New York Jets sit at 2–9 heading into Week 13. If the NFL season ended today, the Jets would hold the third overall pick in the draft, behind only the New York Giants (2–10) and the Tennessee Titans (1–10). With a good chance at a top pick, there are fans hoping the Jets finish the season near the top of the draft board, which would mean not winning many games.

Head Coach Aaron Glenn, however, remains focused solely on winning.

“You play the game to win. It’s not in a coach’s or player’s mentality to go out and lose games. We’re not built that way. Any time we step on the grass, we’re trying to improve,” said Glenn on Wednesday, November 26th (SNYJets on X).

The Jets, who have been more competitive than what their record suggests, with more than half of their losses being by one possession, will have a legitimate opportunity to snag some late-season victories, considering what their remaining schedule looks like.

Sneak Peek at Upcoming Games

In order, New York will play the Atlanta Falcons (4-7), Miami Dolphins (4-7), Jacksonville Jaguars (7-4), New Orleans Saints (2-9), New England Patriots (10-2), and Buffalo Bills (7-4).

There is no reason the Jets cannot pile up a few more wins before the end of the season, especially against teams like the Falcons, Dolphins, and Saints.  There is no doubt that Glenn will have his team playing hard, no matter where the Jets’ record stands.

Looking ahead to their next matchup, the Jets will take on the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, November 30th at MetLife Stadium.  The matchup is expected to be competitive with New York currently predicted as a 2.5-point underdog, per ESPN Bet odds.

It is important to note that Atlanta will roll out their backup quarterback Kirk Cousins in New York, as starting quarterback Michael Penix is injured.  The Falcons will also likely be without their top passing target in wide receiver Drake London.

“According to head coach Raheem Morris, the Falcons are trending in a direction that may not include Drake London for the second consecutive week,” wrote Tori McElhaney, Atlanta Falcons’ Senior Reporter.

Jets Can Still Land a Top Pick, Even if They Win Games

The Jets are rich in draft capital compared to other teams across the league. New York holds two first-round picks and two second-round picks in the 2026 Draft, while also having three first-round picks in the 2027 Draft.

Hypothetically, if the Jets play their way out of a top pick but fall in love with a quarterback in this year’s draft, the team has plenty of draft capital to make a trade, move up to the top of the draft, and get their guy.

If the Jets win games in the final stretch of the season, Glenn will continue to make progress in building a winning culture in New York. With the realistic ability to trade up in the draft, winning games does not necessarily mean they will miss out on the top prospect they want to join the green and white next season.
