Actor Macaulay Culkin Says Former Seahawk is Quiet MVP of the Rams

The Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams will play in one of the most anticipated games of the NFL season when they square off against one another on Thursday. After playing each other earlier in the season, the two teams are more than familiar with one another, but a few players have the unique perspective of playing for both franchises.

Linebacker Ernest Jones IV has been one of the Seahawks’ most impactful players over the last two seasons, but he started his career as a Ram and won Super Bowl LVI with them. On the other side, defensive linemen Poona Ford began his career as a Seahawk and is now playing for the Rams, and he’s made quite the impact on one Rams fan in particular.

Actor Macaulay Culkin is a die-hard Rams fan, and one of his favorite players on the team is Ford.

Quiet MVP

When Macaulay Culkin is discussed this time of year, it’s usually for his holiday classics, such as theHome Alonefranchise, but Culkin is also a huge Rams fan and would like to discuss them as well.

On a recent episode of the YouTube seriesMythical Kitchen, hosted by Josh Scherer, Culkin was a guest, and the topic of his and his wife, actress Brenda Song’s, Rams fandom came up. Scherer mentioned Davante Adams and Poona Ford in the context of their values as free agents joining the team.

“With the Rams defense giving up 30 fewer rushing yards per game this year, primarily out of a nickel-base. Do you think there’s a case to be made that Poona Ford was a more important acquisition than Davante Adams?Scherer asked.

Culkin was more than prepared to answer the question.

“You said the keyword: Poona Ford,Culkin responded. I swear if he was one inch taller, if he was six-feet tall, he’d be making bigger bank. He’s got this kind of stigma, but man, we haven’t had a guy plug up the hole like that since Suh was on the team. Really, that’s what it’s all about. Poona Ford. He’s the quiet MVP of the season because that was a big hole on our defense, was the run, and Poona, man he just does it. Unsung hero.”

Scherer then asked what Culkin’s biggest fear was, and he said it was not having Ford on the Rams, a reality Seahawks fans have been living with for the last few seasons.

Ford Enjoyed His Time in Seattle

Poona Ford came to the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Texas in 2018. Despite being undersized, Ford was highly productive and a fan favorite.

The 5’11 314 lb defensive tackle had 7.5 sacks in five seasons as a Seahawk, and signed a two-year $12.3 million contract extension with the team in 2021.

Ford reflected on his time as a Seahawk in November when he sat down and talked withRams Revealedbefore the first Seahawks-Rams game.

“This is my first time playing them since I left, and we’ve got two really good teams going up against each other, and not just me, but everybody is looking forward to the challenge.”

Ford then further reflected on his time as a Seahawk and what it meant to him that they were the first team to believe in him.

“I kind of loved it up there. The weather wasn’t as bad as people said it was. It’s just whatever you make of it, so I enjoyed my time there they believed in me and believed what I could be as a player. That was just a good feeling.”

Now in his second game, facing off against the Seahawks, Ford will try to be a disruptive force for quarterback Sam Darnold to deal with as the Rams look to wrap up the division on Thursday, and Ford looks to remain Macaulay Culkin’s favorite player on the team.
