Alejandro Garnacho has ‘liked’ a post on Instagram confirming the dismissal of Ruben Amorim as Manchester United manager.

The Red Devils announced that Amorim had been relieved of his duties the morning after Sunday’s clash with bitter rivals Leeds, with the club badly struggling for form and sitting sixth in the Premier League table.

After United’s 1-1 draw at Elland Road, Amorim launched an explosive 122-word rant seemingly directed the board, in which he claimed he joined the club to be ‘manager’ and ‘not just the coach’.

The Portuguese also suggested he had no intention of staying on at Old Trafford beyond his contract, which had been due to expire in 18 months’ time.

Amorim departs the Theatre of Dreams with the lowest win percentage (38.71) of any permanent Manchester United manager since the Premier League’s inception in 1992.

Garnacho, who left United to join Chelsea after a public falling out with Amorim, was extremely quick to ‘like’ Fabrizio Romano’s Instagram post breaking the news.
