Anthony Davis Trade Proposal Sees Dallas Mavericks Get Massive Haul

The Dallas Mavericks have yet to get a healthy stretch of play from Anthony Davis. After trading Luka Doncic for him last season, Davis got hurt after just one game. This season, Davis has played just five games because of a calf injury.

Dallas sits 14th in the Western Conference standings with the second-worst record in the West. Without Davis and Kyrie Irving in the lineup, the team has cratered. Despite Mark Cuban claiming that the Mavericks are not trading Davis, rumors have persisted.

One trade proposal from Bleacher Report would have the Mavs get a pretty good haul in return for Davis if they decided to pursue moving him.

Dallas Mavericks Get Massive Return in Anthony Davis Trade Proposal

Here is he full trade proposal: Anthony Davis to the Chicago Bulls for Coby White, Kevin Huerter, Zach Collins, a 2030 first-round pick (top-three protected), and a 2031 first-round pick swap.

With the Mavericks no longer employing Nico Harrison, they might not be trying to win a championship in this current window. Building around Cooper Flagg might be the avenue that the new General Manager pursues once he is hired.

Getting a point guard, which they sorely miss, would really help them out. White is someone who can play off the ball with Irving, too. Collins gives the team some center depth with Daniel Gafford as an injury risk. Two first-round picks help accelerate the rebuild effort.

If the Mavs decide that a rebuild is the answer, they could do worse than this package. Davis is only getting older, and he clearly isn’t getting more reliable. Cutting bait now to build around a franchise cornerstone in Flagg might be the best move.

The Mavericks Will Get a Lottery Pick This Season to Help Rebuild

Even if Davis returns and does not get hurt for the rest of the season, the Mavs will still likely end up in the lottery. The 2026 NBA Draft is loaded with generational prospects. Any one of those prospects can be a big help for Dallas.

Sending Davis back home to Chicago would allow them to end this short-lived era that never should have happened in the first place. Of course, it all depends on whether or not Patrick Dumont is ready to admit a mistake was made.
