Antony is stalling over a move to Fenerbahce after the Turkish club agreed to pay Manchester United’s €45 million (£38.9m) asking price, according to reports in Brazil.
United are looking to permanently offload Antony following his impressive loan spell at Real Betis in the second half of last season.
The Spanish club have made it clear that they want to re-sign the Brazilian winger but have warned United that they will not go outside their financial boundaries.
‘Every day that passes allows us to dream of him being here,’ Betis’ director of football, Manu Fajardo, said this month.
‘If Antony is here, it’s because the numbers add up. The most important thing is the club’s sustainability; we can’t do anything crazy.’

According to ESPN Brasil, Fenerbahce ‘have gone all out’ to sign Antony and have informed United that they are prepared to spend €45m (£38.9m) on the 25-year-old.
However, Antony is said to be unconvinced over a move to Jose Mourinho’s side and is still holding out for other options.
Antony’s preference is understood to be a return to Betis after scoring nine goals in 26 appearances last season.
Speaking this week, Betis head coach Manuel Pellegrini reiterated his desire to bring Antony back to the club.
‘I haven’t spoken to Antony. We all know he was very happy during the six-month period he was with us,’ Pellegrini said.
‘We want him back, he certainly wants to come back, but it depends on what the transfer holder, which is Manchester United, wants to do with him.’
Fenerbahce, meanwhile, have agreed to sign West Ham midfielder Edson Alvarez on loan for the remainder of the season.
