Arsenal have been handed an injury boost ahead of their Premier League visit to Fulham after summer signing Piero Hincapie was seen back in first-team training.

Hincapie picked up an injury on his debut when he came on as a late substitute in the Gunners’ 2-0 win in the Champions League over Athletic Club.

The Ecuador international, who joined from Bayer Leverkusen over the summer, missed Arsenal’s last five games prior to the international break.

But the 23-year-old now looks set to be available for selection after he took part in first-team training on Thursday alongside many of his returning teammates.

Mikel Arteta is expected to provide an update in his press conference on Friday as to whether the defender will feature in Saturday’s clash with Fulham.

Elsewhere, as expected, there was no Martin Odegaard after the Arsenal skipper picked up a knee injury against West Ham.

The Norwegian joins Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, and Noni Madueke on the treatment table, with all three sidelined with longer-term problems.

There was also no sign of defender Ben White in Thursday’s training session, although the reasoning behind his absence is not yet known.

Arsenal return from the international break top of the pile in the Premier League after Liverpool suffered back-to-back defeats to Crystal Palace and Chelsea.

The Gunners have a one-point lead over the defending champions and will be hoping to extend that this weeekend, with Arne Slot’s side hosting Manchester United at Anfield.

Arsenal, though, will be more than aware of the threat posed by their own opponents, Fulham, having won just one of their last four meetings against Marco Silva’s side.
