Former England star Jack Wilshere is in talks to take his first senior managerial job after snubbing a return to Arsenal over the summer.
Wilshere spent nearly 17 years with his beloved Gunners, coming through their academy and making 197 first-team appearances.
But the 33-year-old’s playing career came to an early end in 2022 after being plagued with injury issues and he immediately moved into coaching.
He returned to north London to become Arsenal Under-18 boss for two years before joining Norwich City as a first-team coach, later becoming interim manager at the end of last season.
The Canaries passed on appointing him permanently and over the summer Wilshere was strongly linked with another return to Hale End, this time in a pivotal role as the Under-21 manager.

Arsenal were keen to appoint their former midfielder, who won two FA Cups under Arsene Wenger, but he declined the offer, hoping to land a senior job elsewhere.
And just a few months on, it appears he has got his wish, with BBC Sport reporting that Wilshere has held talks with Luton Town and is their No.1 choice.

The Hatters sacked manager Matt Bloomfield last Monday after a poor start to the season that has left the former Premier League club 11th in League One.
Luton have been on a downwards spiral since promotion to the top-flight just two years ago, suffering back-to-back relegations.
Wilshere had also been linked with Wayne Rooney’s old job at Plymouth Argyle but now appears to be heading to Kenilworth Road where he will be tasked with achieving a swift return to the Championship.
After 11 games, Luton are five points off the play-offs and eight off the automatic promotion spots, with their next game against Mansfield Town on October 18.
In addition to getting his managerial career off the ground, Wilshere has been keeping an eye on Arsenal’s progress this season, recently heaping praise on one star who has reached ‘another level’.
