Aaron Ramsey has called time on his nightmare spell with Mexican club Pumas after just six appearances.

The 34-year-oldjoined the Liga MX side back in July as a free agent after his Cardiff City deal expired.

A hamstring injury has restricted Ramsey’s availability but he has not played since September and, according to ESPN, is ready to terminate his contract.

While he has struggled to make an impact on the pitch, Ramsey has endured personal heartache in his personal life following the disappearance of his dog.

Halo, who moved to Mexico with Ramsey and the rest of his family in the summer, was first reported as missing on October 9.

The family’s pet disappeared in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato and had been wearing a tracking device when she vanished close to a dog shelter.

Despite sharing Halo’s last known location and issuing a number of appeals to the local public, information has been in short supply.

Ramsey initially offered a $10,000 reward for information, but, with no progress after a week, he has now increased the figure to $20,000.

In one particularly heart wrenching Instagram post, Ramsey wrote: ‘Any news about our Halo please contact us. Big reward for finding her. We are all praying she’s OK and can be back with us soon.’

He followed that with another post saying: ‘We just want our girl back.’

It came as something as a shock when Ramsey chose Mexico as his next destination after leaving his boyhood club.

Ramsey does, however, share the same agent as Pumas manager Efrain Juarez and he said the former Celtic player was key to his signing.

‘I had many conversations with him,’ said Ramsey.

‘What he’s done in his young career so far has been exceptional. The vision and the values this club have really excited me and was something I wanted to be a part of so I’m excited by the next chapter.’
