Arsenal have made an approach to sign Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, according to reports in Spain.
The 25-year-old established himself as Real Madrid’s first-choice goalkeeper this season in the absence of Thibaut Courtois, who required ACL surgery last August and missed the majority of the campaign.
Carlo Ancelotti has said Lunin had a ‘fantastic season’ deputising for Courtois before the Belgian goalkeeper was recalled to the starting line-up for Madrid’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final earlier this month.
Lunin has just one year left on his contract with Madrid and is now facing a key decision over his future.
According to Cadena COPE, Lunin has received an offer of a new contract with Madrid which would keep him tied to the club until 2029.
However, the report claims that Lunin has offers from rivals clubs in Europe – one of which being Arsenal.

Lunin is said to be leaning towards a move away from Madrid because of his ‘cold’ relationship with Ancelotti, who described Courtois as ‘the best goalkeeper in the world’ in the build-up to the Champions League final.
Lunin’s future is likely to be decided after Ukraine’s campaign at Euro 2024 this summer.
His nation are in Group E alongside Belgium, Slovakia and Romania.
Arsenal, meanwhile, could be in the market for a new back-up goalkeeper to David Raya if Aaron Ramsdale leaves the club this summer.
Newcastle United have already expressed an interest in signing Ramsdale, who started just six Premier League games this season, but are put off by Arsenal’s £30 million valuation.
