Arsenal have submitted a £9.3 million bid to sign Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard, according to reports.
The 31-year-old has just finished his sixth season with Brentford and established himself as a key figure in Thomas Frank’s side.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are in the market for a new central midfielder with Jorginho leaving for Flamengo this month, while Thomas Partey’s contract expires next Monday.
But according to Danish outlet Bold, Arsenal have also made a move to bring Norgaard to the Emirates Stadium.

The report claims that Brentford are unwilling to sell Norgaard given his importance on the pitch, while he is also one of the senior figures in the dressing room having captained the team for the past two seasons.

In March, Norgaard signed a contract extension with Brentford which keeps him tied to the club until 2027.
Frank, who left Brentford to become Tottenham manager earlier this month, believes the Denmark international is one of the best players in his position in the Premier League.
‘This new contract was a no-brainer for us and Christian,’ Frank said in March.
‘Christian has been an integral part of the fantastic journey we have been on these past six years. He is our club captain and one of our most important players.
‘His ability to sense danger and make interceptions is at an extraordinarily high level, as is his ability to play forward on the first or second touch. And he has picked up his goal threat this season!
‘The first time I coached Christian, he was a no.10; now he is one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League.’
