Meanwhile, Spanish radio station Cadena SER reported this week that Tottenham are also in the running to sign Rodrygo and are considering a €60m (£52m) offer for the Brazil international.
Madrid are said to be open to offers for Rodrygo but are not actively looking to sell the winger before the end of the summer transfer window.
Last season, reports also suggested that Rodrygo was unhappy with his position in Madrid’s attack as he prefers to play on the left rather than the regular right-sided role he was given by Carlo Ancelotti.
Rodrygo endured a difficult end to last season under Ancelotti and then with Alonso at the Club World Cup, scoring just once and registering two assists in 25 appearances since the start of February.
