‘As They Should:’ Browns Fan React to Shedeur Sanders Remaining Starting QB

The Cleveland Browns will remain with Shedeur Sanders at quarterback.

Sanders made his first start on Sunday, helping the Browns pick up a 24-10 road win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The rookie looked good as he managed the offense well, but after the game, Kevin Stefanski wouldn’t name a starter.

However, on Monday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Sanders will start again on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. Following the news, Browns fans were thrilled by the decision.

“As they should, they’ve got nothing to lose,” a fan wrote.

“Clears JJ McCarthy already lmao,” a fan added.

“As they should. Let ‘em know 12!,” a fan wrote.

In the Browns’ win, Sanders went 11-of-20 for 209 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.

“Let’s see him light up the field again,” a fan wrote.

“Genuinely hope he lights up a stats sheet. Dude has earned his spot,” a Browns fan added.

“Well deserved. He looked sharp last week, and this is the perfect chance to build on that momentum,” a fan wrote.

Sanders’ second NFL start will come on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, which will be a tough test for the rookie quarterback.

Shedeur Sanders Sends Message to Doubters

After leading the Browns to a win on the road on Sunday, Sanders sent a clear message to his haters.

Entering the game, many people were rooting against Sanders, and he knew people wanted to see them fail, which he was glad to prove them wrong.

“Everybody starts at different places,” Sanders said postgame. “And like I said, just because I didn’t get the summer reps, just because I wasn’t in the best situation for me to be prepared to go out there and execute from a summer standpoint, that’s how life is. Everybody’s not in the best situation, but it’s no excuse. You got to go out there and perform. There’s no choice and no question.

“Nobody cares if this was one week of prep. Who cares? A lot of people want to see me fail, and it isn’t going to happen.”

Sanders said he was thankful to get the start and play and is confident he will continue to get better in every start.

Browns Coach Praises Sanders

After Cleveland got a big road win on Sunday, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski praised Sanders.

Stefanski was impressed with some throws Sanders made and said there was a lot of stuff he did well in his first start.

“I think you saw a lot of what Shedeur does well on the field today,” Stefanski said on Sunday. “I thought to make that (completion to Bond) off-schedule when we were outnumbered (in) the protection, get the ball down the field. So, there’s a lot that he’s doing well, and there’s a lot that he’s working on, which is what I appreciate about young guys that want to get better.”

Although Stefanski was impressed with Sanders, the Browns coach wouldn’t confirm the starter on Sunday.

“I’m not going to get into that,” Stefanski said. “Obviously proud of (Sanders). I’m proud of this offense, and there are a ton of things to learn from. But I’m going to worry about today.”

Yet, a day later, Sanders was announced as the starting quarterback on Sunday.
