Ashton Jeanty Doesn’t Hold Back After Raiders Lose to Chiefs

The Las Vegas Raiders head into their bye week on a major low after their disastrous performance against the Kansas City Chiefs. Rather than rising to the occasion of trying to pull off an upset, the Silver and Black fell flat, losing 31-0 to the Chiefs on October 19 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kansas City’s defense took away the run game, along with the air attack, as they limited rooking running back Ashton Jeanty to 21 rushing yards and 13 passing yards.

After a disappointing performance from Las Vegas, Jeanty spoke with the media and gave his honest thoughts on their performance against the Chiefs.

“Just a terrible performance by us as a team,” Jeanty said postgame. “Couldn’t stop them on defense and offense. We couldn’t get going at all. So, you’re going to lose a lot of football games like that…

“We just got to be better. I mean, simple as that. We got to go back, watch the film, can’t point the finger, can’t point a finger at coaches for the scheme or another player for making a mistake. We got to look inward and see how each and every single one of us can get better to make sure that never happens again.”

Raiders Fall to 2-5

After building positive momentum in Week 6 with a win over the Tennessee Titans, the Raiders fell back into the losing column. Moreover, Jeanty isn’t used to this much losing, considering he won often at Boise State. As a result, the young star is adjusting to this rough life to start his NFL career.

“I’ve lost before in my life, but I definitely don’t like losing,” Jeanty added. “It’s not something I work as hard as I do to do. I don’t think anybody else in this building does to lose like that. So if we’re being honest, it’s been a losing culture around here for a long time, but we have to continue to work to fix that and bring winning back here.”

Raiders Head Into the Bye Week

After opening the season with a win, the Raiders lost four straight games, and now, after finding a victory against the Titans, Las Vegas again enter the losing column and head into their bye week with a lot more questions than answers. Jeanty spoke about whether this is good or bad, considering they have to dwell on this performance a lot longer.

“I mean, a bye is good either way,” Jeanty said. “Just kind of let guys refresh, let their bodies heal a little bit. Regardless of whether we win or lose, a bye would be good for us. But once again, whether it’s a bye or not, we’ve got to get back to work and figure out how to get better.”

With the NFL trade deadline nearing, it will be interesting to see which players the Raiders decide to part ways with and garner any draft capital. Coming out of the bye week, the Silver and Black need to start developing their young talents like Jeanty since the 2025 season is at a loss now and need to have an eye on 2026.
