Ashton Jeanty Drops True Feelings After Raiders Loss to Eagles

The Las Vegas Raiders dropped to 2-12 in the 2025 NFL season as Pete Carroll’s first year continues to unravel. Suffering a 31-0 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on December 14 at Lincoln Financial Field, the Silver and Black were shut out for the second time this season.

Las Vegas is now on an eight-game losing streak, and frustration is mounting. The offense is sputtering, and the defense has yet to find any consistency. Regarding the running game in this game, the Raiders’ running back, Ashton Jeanty, recorded 35 rushing yards on 11 carries.

With losses continuing to mount, Jeanty shared his true feelings as he navigates a challenging rookie season.

“No matter what this season has been, we’re still playing for something,” Jeanty told reporters after the loss (h/t Jesse Merrick of Silver & Black Sports Network). “Whatever it may be for you personally, but find that and keep going and keep playing. I definitely don’t feel like we responded to that today. That was an embarrassing performance by us as a team.”

Raiders Didn’t Quit in Loss to the Eagles

Despite the ugly losses in recent weeks, Carroll is defending his group, noting that despite their record, there’s no quit in this team as they look to be limping to the finish line.

“These guys fought their a– off,” Carroll said after another shutout loss. “They fought their a– off. That was the result. They didn’t stop fighting. That was the result of our play right there. I have a lot of respect for the roster we just played against, and maybe they didn’t look like it in the last couple of weeks or whatever, but they played like they were capable, and we couldn’t stop.”

Raiders’ Pete Carroll Continues to Defend His Team

Philadelphia came into this game on a three-game losing streak, but they refused to let it extend. The Eagles capitalized on a Raiders squad that seemed ready to coast to the finish.

Jalen Hurts threw just 15 passes, yet even at a measured pace, he was more than enough. He connected on three touchdown passes, while Saquon Barkley added 78 rushing yards and another score.

Carroll sees the result as a reflection of Philadelphia simply outperforming the two-win Raiders, producing the shutout victory.

“I think we got beat,” Carroll added. “This is a very well-loaded team, and they just did their thing today, both sides of the ball, and they really took it to us. We couldn’t stop their offense, and they got off the field [on] third down. A couple of penalties got in our way, and they were able to do what they needed to do.

“They ran for a bunch. They threw really highly efficient stuff that wasn’t taxing for them. We couldn’t make it hard on them, and we couldn’t get out of our way on offense. We couldn’t get yards. So that third downs and all that, I don’t think it’s some big psychic change that took place. I think we just got whipped by a really loaded football team that on this day had their way.”
