Astonishing moment darts star Gary Anderson hits triple bullseye against Luke Littler… while trying to MISS

IF you’d heard the Flying Scotsman had hit three bulls in a row you’d fear it was a horror story.

But in fact it’s a fantasy tale come true – as Gary Anderson bagged three 50s in a row against Luke Littler… by ACCIDENT!

This is almost never seen in darts but Gary Anderson did it without trying!

Anderson was left with a huge smile but Luke Littler had the last laugh

Anderson was all smiles at that extraordinary feat in an epic Grand Slam of Darts semi-final.

But he wasn’t so happy minutes later when the Nuke nicked a 16-15 comeback win.

Nonetheless, Anderson – aka the Flying Scotsman – left fans raving fans with an “outrageous” triple in an “absolute classic” match.

Ironically it came days after he exclusively told the Sun he couldn’t see treble top, with a trip to Specsavers getting him back on track.

Anderson’s treble treat arrived when he was 14-12 up but under heavy pressure on his own throw from Littler.

The Nuke, 17, got down to needing 74 with Anderson way out on 265.

The 53-year-old could only respond with a ton.

Littler then landed treble 17 to set himself a Double 10 finish, only to fail with his two remaining darts on that visit to the oche.

Back came Anderson – knowing he couldn’t check out but somehow ending up hitting the bull three times to leave himself an unwanted target of 15.

He couldn’t resist a broad grin, but a stern-looking Littler soon wiped that off his face as the Warrington whizkid took the leg with his next dart.

Within minutes, however, Anderson was back at the oche throwing for the match at 15-14 up.

But Littler notched three 140-plus scores to draw level, before the record-breaking teen booked a Sunday night final against Martin Lukeman in the final leg.

Nonetheless, fans loved the loser’s triple 50 moment.

“Outrageous stuff by Gary Anderson,” posted one.

Another said of the whole contest: “Without doubt this was an absolute classic… to see 2 players taking the match to a last leg decider and producing the quality and numbers that Gary and Luke just produced was amazing. Take a bow lads.”

A third added: “Wow that was brilliant!!!!!!!! Well played Gary & Luke.”
