Belarusian tennis star Aryna Sabalenka is competing in her third Grand Slam final this year at the 2025 U.S. Open.
Sabalenka, ranked No. 1 in the world, takes on American tennis star Amanda Anisimova (No. 8) in the women’s singles final on Saturday, September 6. After winning the first set 6-3, the U.S. Open’s official X account posted an awkward photo of Sabelenka’s boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis.
The U.S Open’s account quoted a Taylor Swift song and wrote, “Best believe I’m still bejeweled 🎶,” which left online users confused. An X user asked Grok, the app’s AI, “Who’s in the image,” as they did not tag Frangulis.
Grok answered, “That’s Travis Kelce, the NFL player, spotted in the crowd at the US Open. The ‘bejeweled’ caption nods to Taylor Swift’s song, and those necklaces fit the vibe!”
After numerous X users noted that the person in the photo was not Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Grok corrected itself. Kelce, of course, was not at the U.S. Open in Queens, New York, after playing in the Chiefs’ Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil the night before. The Chiefs lost 27-21.
“Thanks for the correction! Upon verifying, you’re right—that’s Georgios Frangulis, Aryna Sabalenka’s boyfriend, not Travis Kelce. The “bejeweled” lyric led to the mix-up,” it posted.
Fans Had Mixed Reactions to The Untagged Photo of Georgios Frangulis
Fans had strongly mixed reactions to the U.S. Open sharing a singular photo of the 36-year-old Oakberry CEO. One fan posted, “not his fault i think but i get the ick every time i see him 😭😭😭.”
One woman wrote, “this is insulting to everyone involved.”
Another fan posted, “Future HUSBAND of our queen! Suffering in silence in the box so as not to distract her. What love!” One guy posted, “Sabalenka be treatin her mans right.”
Sabalenka, of course, is deeply in love with Frangulis and grateful for his support. “There was a really tough period where I was really happy to have him by my side, always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff,” she told People last year.
“But I make sure I kind of forget about tennis and focus on the good things and enjoy my life. Even when things are going wrong in my career. So yeah, he was my biggest support and yeah, really happy to have him by my side.”

Sabalenka went on to defeat Anisimova, clinching the second set 7-6. She became the first woman to win back-to-back US Open titles since Serena Williams in 2014. This marks the 27-year-old’s fourth career Grand Slam title.
Sabalenka played incredible tennis throughout the entire tournament, dropping just one set during her run to another title win. After defeating Anisimova, she made sure to find Frangulis in the crowd to celebrate.
