Benzecry previously served as the President of Cambridge University Boat Club.
And he broke down in tears live on camera after watching his university dominate the race.
Wiping away tears, Benzecry said: “Sorry, that was just amazing to see.
“This race, sorry. This race is so, so meaningful.
“To see [cox] Ollie Boyne win here today is just the most amazing thing.
“It’s been a hard season for these guys, it’s been a hard season for Cambridge.
“But that performance was just the most incredible row I’ve seen in a Boat Race.”
Host Claire Balding later added: “If anyone at home isn’t crying now, you’re made of steel.”
Benzecry is currently studying for a PhD in Film and Screen Studies at Jesus College.
