Benjamin Sesko has snubbed interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United and will remain at RB Leipzig beyond the summer transfer window.

Signing a new striker had represented a priority for the Premier League giants, but they will be forced to look elsewhere after the 21-year-old decided to remain with the Bundesliga where he will sign a new deal.

Sesko’s previous contract contained a £55 million release clause that expired at the end of the month.

Wary of their vulnerability, Leipzig have offered the Slovenia international a new deal which, according to Fabrizio Romano, contains a gentleman’s agreement over a potential future departure.

Sesko was reported to have indicated that Arsenal had been his preference were he to leave in the current transfer window, but he has now committed his immediate future to a club which finished fourth in the Bundesliga last season.

While there are openings in the forward lines at the various clubs he has been linked with, Sesko believes it would aid his development by sticking with Leipzig where he will remain an automatic starter.

Kai Havertz excelled when deployed as a false nine during the second half of last season, while Arsenal will hope Gabriel Jesus will return to full fitness and the sort of form he displayed during the first four months of his Arsenal career.

Chelsea, meanwhile, already boast the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson who displayed enough potential last season to suggest they will feature prominently under Enzo Maresca next term.
