While Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are preparing for a game against the Houston Texans that could seal their playoff fate, the tight end is also working on some big plans with fiancee Taylor Swift.
The Chiefs dropped to a 37% chance of making the playoffs after their Thanksgiving Day loss to the Dallas Cowboys, and The Athletic estimates that their hopes could fade almost entirely with a loss to the Texans. While Kelce said he believes the team is still a Super Bowl contender, they may need to win out in their remaining five games to reach the postseason.
The pressure comes as Kelce and Swift are moving quickly toward their wedding, with a new report revealing details of the upcoming nuptials including a major decision on the date and venue.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Pick a Date
While Kelce is trying to earn his fourth ring after three Super Bowl titles with the Chiefs, the Pro Bowl tight end has decided when he’ll give Swift her first. The New York Post’s Page Six reported that the couple picked a wedding date, which came at a big expense.
“Taylor Swift cut a hefty check to snag a brideâs wedding date at a posh Rhode Island venue, Page Six is told,” the report noted. “Multiple sources tell us that the billionaire pop superstar wanted to marry her fiancé, Travis Kelce, at Ocean House in Watch Hill on Saturday, June 13, 2026.”
Swift and Kelce had to do some hard bargaining to land that date, with the outlet reporting that another wedding was already planned at the Ocean House.
“However, upon learning that another couple was already set to tie the knot there on that day, our sources say Swift dipped into her deep pockets and made an offer the bride couldnât refuse,” the report noted.
The report added that the couple originally planned to get married at Swift’s Rhode Island mansion, but moved to a bigger venue as the guest list grew too large for her estate to accommodate.
Travis Kelce Still Believes
While the Chiefs have struggled to stay on the fringes of the playoff race this season, Kelce still believes they can contend for a fourth consecutive Super Bowl appearance. The tight end said this week that the team has suffered some bad luck and could have been contending for the top spot in the conference if the chips had fallen their way instead.
âIâm sure everyone is sick of us saying it, but weâre a few plays away from being a one seed in my mind,â Kelce said. âItâs crazy that you watch the film and you see whatâs real. And whatâs real is weâre that [expletive] close.â
Patrick Mahomes shared a similar sentiment, saying after last week’s loss that he believes the team’s ceiling “is playing in the Super Bowl.”
A deep postseason run could put added pressure on Kelce, who contemplated retirement before returning this season. If the Chiefs should make the Super Bowl, it would leave Kelce and Swift just four months to plan their wedding.
