The Buffalo Bills will have a shot to get back in the win column on Monday Night Football when they take on the Atlanta Falcons. After suffering their first loss of the 2025 campaign in Week 5 against the New England Patriots, the Bills will be motivated to bounce back, and they figure to have a good shot at taking down the Falcons.
Even with their aforementioned loss, a lot has gone right for Buffalo through its first five games. One such example has been the play of veteran defensive end Joey Bosa, whom the team signed in free agency over the offseason. Even though it’s only Week 6, Bosa has a shot to tie a Bills franchise record when he takes the field on Monday night.
Joey Bosa Already Closing in on Bills Franchise Record
One of Buffalo’s biggest offseason goals was to revamp its defense, and that started on the defensive line. Finding a tried-and-true pass rusher who has a knack for getting to the quarterback was key for the Bills, and that led them to Bosa in free agency after his stint with the Los Angeles Chargers came to an end.
Bosa ended up signing a one-year, $12.6 million contract with Buffalo to come in and shore up its defensive line. Through five games, Bosa has already found a way to make a major impact on the team, as he’s racked up nine tackles and two sacks so far, and it feels like he may only just be getting started when it comes to his overall production.
Beyond his aforementioned numbers, Bosa also leads the league with four forced fumbles. While it’s not close to a career high for him, as he tallied seven in the 2021 campaign, it is an impressive mark considering how he’s only played in five games. And as he prepares for the team’s Week 6 action, he could end up tying a franchise mark for the Bills if he forces another fumble.
“With 1 forced fumble: Joey Bosa can reach 5 forced fumbles on the year and tie the Bills franchise record for forced fumbles in a season,” the team’s official public relations team shared in a post on X.
Bills Aiming to Earn Win No. 5 vs. Falcons

It’s still early in the season, but Bosa appears to be precisely what the Bills were looking for when they signed him in free agency. He may not be the same player he once was earlier in his career with the Chargers, but he can still get to the quarterback with the best of them, and that has made a world of a difference in the early going for Buffalo.
As their loss in Week 5 showed, though, the Bills aren’t perfect, and they still have some holes on both sides of the ball that need to be plugged. They will look to reassert themselves as a top team in the league against a Falcons squad that is fresh off its bye week in Week 5. That will make this a bit of a taller task for Buffalo, but if all goes according to plan, it will walk away from this one with its fifth win of the 2025 campaign.
