The Buffalo Bills and gearing up for a game against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, October 13, for Monday Night Football. Of course, while all eyes are focused on Monday, the Bills are likely still licking their wounds from playing the New England Patriots on Sunday, October 5, and falling in that game. Up until that point, they were one of the few teams in the NFL to still be undefeated this season, but nobody is perfect, and the Bills just couldn’t overcome Drake Maye and New England.
Now, that’s in the past, and the team is looking ahead to Monday. But, it’s not all about football, all the time. Well, it is, but the Buffalo Bills also give back, and that’s an important part of their mission as a team.
Buffalo Bills Break a Record Off the Field
On Thursday, October 9, the Bills announced some good news on their Buffalo Bills Foundation.
“To combat hunger in our community, the Buffalo Bills Foundation and Wegmans teamed up for their annual Huddle for Hunger initiative,” they stated on their website. “In 2025, a record-breaking 65,100 pounds of food were donated to the 2025 Huddle for Hunger Community Food Drive to support FeedMore WNY and its nearly 400 hunger-relief partners throughout Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties.”
They added, “This year’s Huddle for Hunger totals exceeded the previous record by more than 27,000 pounds. The annual Huddle for Hunger Drive is made possible through the partnership of the Buffalo Bills Foundation and Wegmans.”
So, major congratulations are in order for the Bills. They’re certainly giving back.
Quarterback Power Rankings for Josh Allen of the Bills
Where did the time go? We’re already into Week 6 of the NFL. Jack McKessy of USA Today has released his tally of power rankings for quarterbacks going into Week 6, and it’s a comprehensive lineup.
In the piece out on Wednesday, October 8, he notes that Week 5 was filled with upsets in the NFL, because both of the league’s remaining undefeated franchises, the Philadelphia Eagles and Bill, of course, lost.
“The Tennessee Titans and rookie quarterback Cam Ward finally picked up their first win of the season in the desert against the Arizona Cardinals,” he adds. “New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler, who had an 0-10 record as a starter to begin his NFL career, looked like the much better of the two younger quarterbacks in Sunday’s game. He picked up his first career win over the New York Giants, handing rookie Jaxson Dart his first career loss in the process.”
So, where does Allen fall in his quarterback rankings? He’s No. 2. He’s only behind Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions.
“The Patriots handed Allen and the Bills their first loss of the season Sunday night,” he notes in the piece. “Allen’s red-zone interception near the end of the third quarter allowed New England to extend its lead to two scores, which provided a crucial swing in a divisional game.”
As for Goff, he says that the quarterback’s “19-of-23 outing with three touchdowns against the Bengals moved him into the league lead in completion percentage (75.2%) and touchdown passes (12). He’s also No. 1 in passer rating and QBR among quarterbacks to have started all five games – only Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who was ruled out in Week 5, has higher marks.”
