It was a nightmarish Week 10 for the Buffalo Bills. They woke up Sunday morning just a half-game behind the Patriots in the AFC East and went to bed a game and a half back in the division they’ve won five years in a row.
Division games are always tricky, but the Bills went on the road and laid an egg in Miami, getting blown out 30-13 by one of the worst teams in the NFL. The victory gave the Dolphins just their third win of the season, and they have lost big to the Colts, Browns, and Ravens. Buffalo losing in Miami qualifies as one of the most shocking upsets of the season.
Meanwhile, the Patriots went on the road and got a tough, gritty win over a very good Buccaneers team. New England has now won seven in a row and has wins over the Bucs, Falcons, and they beat the Bills in Buffalo back in Week 5. With the easiest remaining schedule in the NFL, the Patriots are in the driver’s seat in the AFC East just past the halfway point of the season.
The Buffalo Bills Get Devastating News on Rookie Edge Rusher Landon Jackson

To add insult to injury, the Bills lost rookie third-round edge defender Landon Jackson to a season ending injury. Per Jordan Schultz, Jackson tore his MCL and PCL against the Dolphins, ending his season. No timeline has been officially established, but Jackson is expected to make a full recovery. He may not be ready for the start of the 2026 season.
It’s an unfortunate blow for Jackson, who had just started to get some traction in the Bills’ defensive line rotation. He’d only been active in three games this season, and the Patriots game was the first game he’d played in since Buffalo’s loss to the Falcons.
Jackson’s loss is more bad news for the Bills, who are already losing guys all over the defensive line. After missing the first six games of the season due to a suspension, ED Michael Hoecht is out for the season with a pec injury. DTs Ed Oliver and T.J. Sanders are both on Injured Reserve (IR), and ED AJ Epenesa also missed the Dolphins game. Buffalo can hardly afford another injury.
What Went Wrong for the Buffalo Bills Against the Dolphins?
In short: the Bills couldn’t run the ball, and they couldn’t stop the run either. Buffalo had just 87 rushing yards as a team, with starting RB James Cook getting bottled up for just 53 yards, after torching the league for most of the year.
On the other sideline, Miami RB De’Von Achane averaged 7.9 yards per carry on 22 runs, totaling 174 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. He added six receptions for 51 yards, absolutely gashing the Bills at every turn. You won’t win many games when your opponent puts up those kinds of numbers.
