Bills’ Josh Allen Provides Clarity on Viral Sideline Mishap

The Buffalo Bills kept their AFC East title dreams alive on Sunday with a 35-31 win over the New England Patriots thanks to a ferocious second half comeback. On the field, Josh Allen led his team to a 28 point second half; on the sideline, Allen went viral on social media, as the TV cameras caught him throwing up early in the fourth quarter.

If you have a weak stomach, don’t click on the following link, which shows Allen booting on the Bills sideline while wearing his giant jacket.

Definitely a gross moment that was caught on camera, featuring commentator Ian Eagle, clearly taken aback by Allen’s barf.

Allen Clarifies Reasoning For His Mid-Game Vomit

Fear not Buffalo fans, Allen’s regurgitation isn’t due to a sickness or a concussion. It seems to just be a nerves thing for the reigning MVP.

“If they don’t catch it every game, I don’t know; it basically happens every game,” Allen said. “If I don’t get enough out pregame, it usually happens at halftime. If I don’t get enough out at halftime, it usually happens in the third or fourth quarter.

He clearly didn’t get enough out at halftime on Sunday, as the camera caught him with just under 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter as he was getting ready to take the field down by three points.

“I don’t know why I do it, it just happens,” Allen continued. “It’s due to nothing else other than just a weird feeling and I’ve just got to get it out.”

Whatever Allen got out right before that drive clearly worked, as it ended up being the game-winning drive for Buffalo. Within a minute after Allen was caught vomiting, he began a seven play touchdown drive that finished with a James Cook touchdown, making the score 35-31, where it stood for the remainder of the game.

Allen didn’t set the world on fire with his stats in the second half, but his two touchdown passes and ability to escape the pocket were enough for Buffalo to overcome the 21 point deficit they entered the second half facing.

Bills Remain in Contention For Sixth Straight AFC East Title

Buffalo kept the Patriots from clinching the AFC East on Sunday with the win. New England has undergone a massive transformation this season following a 4-13 campaign in 2024, and is still in the drivers seat to win the division, though the Bills are nipping at their heels.

For Buffalo to win the division, a couple of things need to happen. First, the Bills need to win at least one more game than the Pats in the final three games of the season.

If the two teams finish with the same record, the first tiebreaker is head-to-head, which is null because the teams split their regular season series. The second tiebreaker is divisional record. The Patriots have a 3-1 record with games against the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins remaining, while the Bills have a 3-2 record with just one game left against New York in week 18.

If New England wins both of those games, they win the division. If they lose one, the third tiebreaker is best winning percentage against common opponents. The Patriots game next weekend against Baltimore now carries more weight, as Buffalo defeated the Ravens all the way back in week one.
