Bills Quarterback Josh Allen Speaks On Becoming A Father

There was no shortage of news to come out of the Buffalo Bills‘ introductory press conference with new head coach Joe Brady. Of the several Bills players in attendance, quarterback Josh Allen showed up to support his new HC.

Allen was sporting a walking boot and crutches as he informed the room full of reporters about a successful surgery he underwent on Monday.

The surgery adds just one more obstacle to what is set to be the 29-year-old’s busiest offseason yet, as his wife, actress Hailee Steinfeld, is expected to give birth to the couple’s first child sometime during the coming months.

He was asked about what his offseason looks like, balancing recovery and fatherhood.

“I have siblings that have kids, I’ve got a lot of friends who have kids, I don’t know if you can plan too far in advance,” Allen said with a smile.

“I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife — becoming a dad. It’s something that I will take with great pride, and it’s something that we will have to figure out as we go, like everything else.”

‘The Most Important Thing I’ll Ever Be In My Life’

The importance of his job as a new father is not lost on the reigning MVP. He acknowledges that he has it pretty good as the quarterback of the Bills, but his next challenge is just a little bit more exciting than the rest.

“This is the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life — is being a dad,” Allen said. “I love being a football player, and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but I’m looking forward to this one.

“Thank you guys, go Bills.”
