Bills Rising WR Will Have a New Look For Week 1

The regular season of the NFL schedule has finally arrived. The Buffalo Bills will open their season against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night. This matchup could be one of the biggest of the season for the Bills.

Baltimore is one of the best teams in the AFC, and the Week 1 matchup with the Bills could be for the No. 1 seed in the conference. Getting home-field advantage throughout the playoffs could go a long way. First, the No. 1 seed gets a bye through the Wild Card round and won’t have to go on the road until the Super Bowl.

The Bills Will Have New Players Stepping Up

Buffalo will be debuting a handful of players on Sunday, one being pass rusher Joey Bosa. After nine seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, Bosa was released and signed with the Bills this March.

Bosa is supposed to be one of the keys to the Bills’ season. Buffalo had a hard time getting after the passer last year, and Bosa could feel that void. While Bosa is new to the team, a player who could have an impact this season will also be making his debut for the first time as a player on the 53-man roster coming out of training camp.

Bills wide receiver Tyrell Shavers made the Bills roster this week after having a great training camp. Shavers has been around Buffalo for a few years now, spending time on the practice squad, but he never made the team coming out of camp. He did appear in a few regular-season games last year, even catching a touchdown in the Week 18 loss to the New England Patriots.

Shavers likely won’t have a significant role early on with all the talent at receiver on the roster. But towards the middle of the season, he could play a massive part in the Bills’ success.

Shavers Will Have A New Look This Season

When Shavers does take the field for his first regular-season game, he will be rocking a new look. The 26-year-old receiver changed his number from 80 to 14 this week. Shavers is accustomed to wearing No. 14, as he wore it during his time at Alabama and San Diego State. Shavers spent three seasons at Alabama but didn’t have much production.

After Shavers left Alabama, he went to another SEC team, playing for Mississippi State, before heading to San Diego State. It’s taken Shavers a while to break through in the NFL, finally, but he has a great chance to stay around Buffalo for many years to come.
