The Buffalo Bills headed into Week 13’s matchup with Aaron Rodgers‘ Pittsburgh Steelers needing a win after playing inconsistent football over the past month, losing two of their last four games.
In the first half, the Steelers’ defense looked like it had something going, containing Josh Allen and the Bills’ offense to only three points. However, in the second half, things changed, with Buffalo going on to score 23 points to pull off the blowout against Mike Tomlin’s squad.
Even though the Bills got a much-needed win, it may have come at a cost to the team’s defense.
Bills’ Joey Bosa Suffers Injury in Win Over Steelers

During the win over the Steelers, star defensive end Joey Bosa went down with a hamstring strain in his right leg.
According to Thigh Doctor, Bosa’s strained hamstring could keep him sidelined for two weeks, but there’s a chance he could be back on the field before missing two straight games.
Bosa is having a reasonably solid year during his first season with the Bills, recording 5.0 sacks and a league-leading five forced fumbles—his presence on the defensive line will be missed if he’s ruled out for at least the next two games, where Buffalo will face Joe Burrow and Drake Maye.
Bosa’s Game-Changing Sack on Aaron Rodgers

Although Bosa will almost certainly miss some time with a hamstring strain, which is always a tricky injury to bounce back from, especially as a veteran defensive end with a lot of miles on him, the Ohio State product left a significant impression on this game against the Steelers.
Bosa’s second-half sack on Rodgers changed the game completely. Bosa sacked Rodgers from behind and forced a fumble, which was picked up by cornerback Christian Benford, who ran it in for a touchdown.
Along with scooping up the football to score off of Bosa’s forced fumble, Benford took advantage of Steelers backup quarterback Mason Rudolph by picking off one of the three passes he threw with Rodgers sidelined due to the injury.
It was a big day for the Bills’ defense, as it ultimately led to a 19-point win, and Buffalo’s record improved to 8-4 on the season. The timing of the defense stepping up was crucial, as it wasn’t the best day for Allen, who finished the game completing only 15 passes for 123 yards, one passing touchdown and an interception.
Allen also had a rushing touchdown to go 38 yards on the ground on eight carries, but it wasn’t the typical performance from the reigning NFL MVP. Star running back James Cook picked up the slack, however, racking up 177 total yards from scrimmage.
Following the win over the Steelers, the Bills have five games left on the regular-season schedule, starting with the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 14, followed by the New England Patriots (Week 15), Cleveland Browns (Week 16), Philadelphia Eagles (Week 17) and New York Jets (Week 18)
