Bills Trade Idea Sends Cowboys $21 Million Star To Buffalo

The Buffalo Bills reported to training camp this week, and with about a month and a half until Week 1 of the regular season, the team is in a great position to finally reach the Super Bowl.

Every NFL fan knows the Bills have had a hard time the last five years trying to reach the Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs have taken down Buffalo four out of the last five postseasons, which is not ideal.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen is viewed as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but until he reaches the big game, fans won’t start to take him seriously as one of the best quarterbacks of all time.

Buffalo has one of the best rosters in the NFL, and they need to ensure they’re continually improving it.

Just because the season is almost ready to start doesn’t mean the Bills can’t make some more moves.

One option is to add a few veteran free agent players to the mix, or they could still consider trading for someone.

The Bills Could Be Players For A Trade

Cincinnati Bengals pass rusher Trey Hendrickson is seeking a new contract and, as of now, is sitting out the start of training camp.

If Hendrickson’s contract dispute continues, there is a chance the star player will be traded.

It’s unlikely the Bengals would trade Hendrickson to the Bills, given that they are Super Bowl contenders in the AFC, but that doesn’t mean Buffalo can’t still add help to their defense through a trade.

The Bills do need to look to add some help to the secondary, and Marcus Mosher from Fansided thinks the Bills should try to trade for Dallas Cowboys safety Malik Hooker at this year’s NFL trade deadline.

“You can make a case that the safety position is the weakest spot on the roster going into the season for the Bills. And while they hope someone like Cole Bishop can take a big step forward in Year 2, that isn’t a guarantee,” Mosher wrote.

“The Cowboys have a lot of safety depth but likely won’t re-sign Malik Hooker after the end of the 2025 season. He has managed to stay healthy after several injury-plagued seasons and could provide Buffalo with a much-needed free safety who can cover the middle of the field.

Hooker is no longer the elite athlete he was at Ohio State and with the Colts, but he is a much better and more consistent player than anyone on the Buffalo roster currently has. If the Cowboys are going nowhere in the middle of the season, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they moved him for a late-round pick and opted to play some younger defensive backs instead.”

Hooker Would Make Sense For Buffalo

Hooker is on a three-year $21 million contract and would be a nice addition to the Bills’ defense.

The 29-year-old corner is entering his ninth NFL season and his fifth with the Cowboys.

Hooker has appeared in 100 games, recording 361 combined tackles and 14 interceptions.

If the Bills need to trade for a safety at this year’s deadline, then Hooker should be the player they try to acquire.
