Bills Urged to Land Jets $130 Million WR After Blockbuster Trade

Following two consecutive losses before the bye week, the Buffalo Bills bounced back with two statement wins. After crushing the Carolina Panthers 40-9, they took down the Kansas City Chiefs 28-7.

While there’s a lot to celebrate with the Bills getting back into a rhythm, the team has some obvious holes on the roster they could address before the trade deadline on Tuesday, November 4. Bills general manager Brandon Beane seems to be preparing to pull the trigger on a move. On Monday night, the Bills restructured cornerback Taron Johnson’s contract, creating an extra $1.75 million in salary cap space.

Buffalo now has approximately $3.4 million in cap space available. The big question remains: What does Beane plan to do with the extra cash? Much of Bills Mafia is begging Beane to get Bills quarterback Josh Allen a deep threat wide receiver.

While Allen, who broke the record for most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in NFL history, can go into Superman mode to get a win, it’s not a sound game plan. Adding a true No. 1 wide receiver could be the missing piece to propel the Bills to the Super Bowl this season.

Buffalo reportedly inquired about Jakobi Meyers, however, the Las Vegas Raiders traded him to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday. Following the New York Jets‘ blockbuster trade to send Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts, and Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys, rumors swirl that Garrett Wilson might be available.

The Sporting News’ Jarrett Bailey posted, “Both the Steelers and Bills should be calling the Jets about Garrett Wilson.”

Bills Fans & Analysts Urged Brandon Beane to Make a Move for Jets WR Garrett Wilson

The Jets are officially in rebuild mode after their shocking move to send Gardner to the Colts. Gardner signed a new four-year $120 million contract with New in July. But with a 1-7 record, the Bills’ AFC East rival’s 2025 season is effectively over.

Wilson also signed a new deal in July, inking a four-year, $130 million deal with the Jets. Thus far this season, Wilson’s recorded 36 receptions for 395 yards and four touchdowns in six games. While trading within the division seems like a long shot, Beane is urged to go all in for the 25-year-old Ohio State alum.

SI’s Alex Brasky posted, “Brandon Beane needs to send a first round pick to the Jets for Garrett Wilson. They’re having a fire sale. Bills need to do whatever they can to take advantage.” Cover 1’s Greg Thompsett suggested, “2026 1st, 2027 2nd, Keon Coleman to the Jets, Garrett Wilson to the Bills.”

A fan wrote, “BB bro please GW is sititng there begging to be released from jail 😂😂😂.” WGR 550’s Brian Koziol added, “Garrett Wilson please. #Bills.”

Following the flurry of excitement, however, SNYtv’s Connor Hughes posted, “Spoke to a team that called the #Jets recently about WR Garrett Wilson. With Sauce Gardner dealt, feeling around the NFL is anyone can be had. Not the case with Wilson. Conversations did not progress. He’s untouchable.”

The Bills Called About Saints WR Chris Olave

Following a slew of injuries on defense, Beane could trade for a defensive lineman, safety, or edge rusher. But the lack of a boundary receiver remains an issue.

The Athletic’s Joe Buscaglia noted, “Just as much as it has been a need over the past few games, for the Bills to become the fully functional two-dimensional offense they covet, another piece is necessary to the boundary receiver group — namely, someone who can help install a bit more of a threat to push in the intermediate and deep levels. It wouldn’t be a surprise if that’s a focal point for Beane before Tuesday’s trade deadline.”

Buscaglia’s comments come after The Athletic’s Dianna Russini noted the Bills called about New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave.

Buffalo could also go all in to make a move for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. However, ESPN reported that while the Dolphins are listening to offers, it’s “highly unlikely” they move on from Waddle.
