Bills WR Quickly Deletes Tweet After Loss to Falcons

The Buffalo Bills enter the bye week after suffering back-to-back losses. After falling 23-20 to the New England Patriots at home, they took a demoralizing 31-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen looks far from his MVP self. Against the Falcons, he completed 15-of-26 passes for 180 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, along with six carries for 42 yards.

With tight end Dalton Kincaid and wide receiver Curtis Samuel ruled out and Josh Palmer exiting early in the second quarter with an ankle injury, the offense struggled. Keon Coleman had a huge opportunity to step up against the Falcons, but he was a non-factor.

Coleman caught just three passes for 11 yards. While the “everybody eats” style of offense thrived early on, Allen and Co. put up at least 30 points each week while going 4-0; something is broken.

Following Buffalo’s worst game of the season and falling to second place in the AFC East, panic is setting in for Bills Mafia. While Allen deserves blame for numerous mistakes against Atlanta, the concern over his pool of wide receivers and their lack of production is reaching a fever pitch.

Save for Coleman’s performance against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, where he recorded seven catches for 95 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter alone, he’s failed to become a reliable target for Allen.

He caught 4-of-7 catches for 23 yards and a touchdown against the Patriots, but he also lost a fumble that New England turned into a field goal.

Coleman tweeted on Wednesday, October 15, “Say less” with a handshake emoji. He deleted it moments later.

One fan replied, “I guess we gotta bully him into being good 🤷🏾‍♂️ whatever it takes.” One X user commented, “How about ‘Do More’?” A Chiefs fan wrote, “He saw Bills fans saying they should have taken Xavier Worthy instead 😭😭.”

Coleman has not yet proved he can be a true No. 1 wide receiver. The Sporting News‘ Jarrett Bailey wrote following the Bills’ Week 6 loss, “Coleman is a bust.

“He has zero separation ability, and he isn’t a boundary receiver. He is more suited as a big-bodied slot receiver, but that role is already occupied by Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid.”

Bills Head Coach Sean McDermott Promised To Figure Things Out During The Bye Week

Bills head coach Sean McDermott told reporters on Tuesday, “We’ve had some good moments, but I also want to kind of look under the hood a little bit more and [make] sure that we’ve got everything underneath in terms of the foundation that it’s helping us.

“From the way we practice, to the way we meet, to what we emphasize, to what we’re asking our players to do.” While offensive coordinator Joe Brady is under fire for his play calls getting too cute or simply getting stale, McDermott is not considering any changes.

“[Brady’s] a great offensive coordinator. He’s a great play caller, right?” McDermott said. “At the end of the day, whatever play we call, we got to execute at a high level as well. So that’s a piece of it. But I remain confident, very confident in [Brady] and his ability to put us into the right situations and put our players in good positions on offense.”

McDermott plans to “hunker down” with Brady and defensive coordinator Bobby Babich during the bye week to get the team back on track.
