Bo Nix Makes Strong Statement During Broncos’ Week 12 Bye

The Denver Broncos are off this week, enjoying their bye at 9-2 and boasting the best record in the NFL. However, Broncos quarterback Bo Nix knows some messages are worth sharing regardless of when.

Nix has been vocal this season about the team, his personal performance, and even the criticism that has resulted from both.

Fittingly, Nix leaned on his faith.

Broncos QB Bo Nix Breaks Rule to Share Bible Verse Amid Criticism

Nix previously said that he is not on social media during the season amid a slew of criticism, but the Broncos QB either broke that rule to share his message or had someone else do it for him.

“I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus,” Nix posted on Instagram on November 18, noting the passage is from ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭13‬-‭14‬.

In the comment section, teammates Brandon Jones and Nik Bonitto both shared emojis showing their support for Nix’s message, while former NFL QB Derek Carr replied “amen [praying hands emoji].

Nix has completed 61.2% of his passes for 2,421 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions this season, adding another 213 yards and 3 TDs on 50 rushing attempts.

He has relied on late-game comebacks in several games this season.

As a result, Nix, whom the Broncos selected 12th overall last year, is tied with Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2024 draft, for the most fourth-quarter comebacks and game-winning drives entering Week 12.

Nix expresses his faith proudly and frequently. So, his choice of messaging is hardly surprising. Still, that he broke his own rules shows how important it was for him to get out.

Broncos Icon Clashes Over Bo Nix

Amid the commentary, former Broncos star Aqib Talib has come to Nix’s defense. However, one such interaction got flipped on him.

Former NFL QB Chase Daniel, who played for Broncos head coach Sean Payton with the New Orleans Saints, has been an ardent defender of Nix’s despite what he viewed as constructive criticism.

Talib, however, believed Daniel was joining the Broncos bandwagon late.

The interaction occurred after Daniel lauded the Broncos for beating the Kansas City Chiefs. It was thanks largely to Nix’s play, especially in comparison to his counterpart, Patrick Mahomes.

Talib replied to Daniel’s video, saying, “You were one of the Bo Nix haters I believe!!! ‘He not seeing it. He’s nervous for no reason. They can’t play like this!’ We don’t want you on the bandwagon Chase! Keep hating!!!”

Daniel quickly responded.

“Crazy how people hop on the Bo Nix train late and start pointing fingers…..,” Daniel posted in response, along with “receipts” of his support. “I’ve been here since day one.

Talib came back and admitted he saw that Daniels had indeed held the same position from the outset. Still, the interaction shows how heated the discourse around Nix is, despite his leading the Broncos to their current standing.
