Bournemouth 1 Everton 0: Super-sub David Brooks smashes home late volley as Toffees slip to just TWO POINTS of drop zone

BOURNEMOUTH continued their fine form into the new year with a 1-0 victory over Everton.

The Cherries spent much of the match knocking on the door only to be greeted with Everton’s brick wall defensive setup.

Sean Dyche doesn’t hide the fact he will sit behind the ball to try and grind out points, but – as has been the case for most of the season – the approach didn’t work.

A splendid volley from super-sub David Brooks meant that Andoni Iraola’s side continued their unbeaten streak to EIGHT games.

It also puts the Cherries just three points off the top four.

Contrasty, Everton are now only two points above the drop zone as their dire form continues.

The Toffees have won just ONE of their last 11 games in all competitions.
