Manchester United are expected to make a raft of changes when they take on Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday.

Ruben Amorim’s side sealed a hugely impressive 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao at San Mames in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday night.

While they take a commanding lead back to Manchester for the return leg next week, there is still a job to do with United’s home record a pretty horrid one this season where they have lost eight times.

With nothing to play for in the Premier League, Sunday’s trip to west London gives Amorim the chance to rest his key personnel.

The United boss has already confirmed there are some players who will not be involved ‘no matter what’ with Noussair Mazraoui among them.

The Morocco international, filling in at right wing-back in Diogo Dalot’s absence, was described as ‘dead’ after the win in Bilbao by his manager who feared he is ‘in the limit to get an injury’.

Amorim also noted Patrick Dorgu was ‘very tired’ after the game. Harry Amass will hope to earn another start on the left while Jayden Kamason, included in the match squad in Thursday night, could be in contention to make his senior debut at Brentford.

Tyler Frederison could be another youngster to come into the side following his very impressive debut at Wolves while Chido Obi will be expected to get some game time up front.

Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo started at Wolves last weekend and could come back into the side.

Casemiro, sublime in midfield against Athletic, is another who has surely earned himself along with Bruno Fernandes with the visit of the La Liga side in mind.

How Man Utd could line up this weekend…

Matthijs de Ligt made his return off the bench after missing the previous six games along with Amad Diallo, back from the ankle injury that was initially feared to have ended his season.

Both will surely feature in Amorim’s plans should United reach the final in Bilbao but their trip to the capital this weekend presents the opportunity for them to get more minutes under their belts.

Predicted Man Utd XI to face Brentford

Onana, Fredricson, de Ligt, Shaw, Kamason, Mainoo, Ugarte, Amass, Amad, Mount, Obi
