Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos won their 10th straight game, and 11th on the season, defeating the Las Vegas Raiders. In the aftermath of the victory, the Broncos tapped into the Raiders’ pipeline for help, bringing in Sincere McCormick.
Denver remains without starting running back J.K. Dobbins, who could return for a deep playoff run, most likely if the Broncos reach the Super Bowl.
In the meantime, McCormick adds something the Broncos otherwise lack.
Broncos Sign Ex-Raiders RB Sincere McCormick

“Source: #Broncos are expected to sign RB Sincere McCormick to their practice squad,” 9News’ Mike Klis reported in a post on X on December 8. “Former Raider had tryout with Broncos on Friday.”
McCormick, who turned 25 in September, joins the Broncos after stints with the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers this season.
He entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Raiders in 2022.
“McCormick led the Raiders with 60 yards during the preseason slate, but he needed 17 carries to get to that total,” CBS Sports and the Roto Wire Staff wrote in August. “The 23-year-old also caught five of six passes for 18 yards. McCormick spent 2022 on IR and was on Las Vegas’ practice squad all of last season. He could end up back on the team’s practice squad to begin 2024 if he clears waivers.”
McCormick’s only regular-season action came in 2024. He rushed for 183 yards on 39 attempts, adding another 29 yards on six receptions for the Raiders that season. The Raiders waived McCormick at the end of the 2025 preseason, drawing attention.
According to The Athletic’s Tashan Reed, “McCormick was the odd man out” in a retooled Raiders running back room, losing a spot to Raheem Mostert.
“He showed flashes of being an effective runner last year, but he’s struggled to stay healthy and doesn’t offer much special teams value,” Reed wrote in August. “Ultimately, the decision came down to keeping McCormick or Mostert, but the coaching staff favored Mostert, according to a league source. The expectation is McCormick won’t be back on the practice squad, according to a league source.”
McCormick joins a deep, but undersized, running back room for the Broncos.
Broncos Add Size to RB Room
GettyRJ Harvey #12 of the Denver Broncos looks on against the Los Angeles Chargers.
With Dobbins sidelined, McCormick enters an RB room led by rookie second-round pick RJ Harvey. It also has former Baltimore Ravens sixth-round pick Tyler Badie and ex-UDFA Jaleel McLaughlin.
Former Dallas Cowboys draftee Deuce Vaughn is on the Broncos’ practice squad.
Dobbins is the Broncos’ tallest and heaviest back at 5-foot-10 and 212 pounds, with Harvey (5-foot-8 and 205 pounds) in second. McCormick is 5-foot-9 and 204 pounds.
“#Broncos had an open spot on practice squad with Marcedes Lewis signed to 53, so shouldn’t be a corresponding move,” The Denver Post’s Luca Evans said in a post on X. “McCormick offers a little bigger body in the RB room than what Denver has. 5-9, 205.”
The Broncos can elevate McCormick from the practice squad three times.
After that, the Broncos would need to sign McCormick to their active roster to continue utilizing him on game days the rest of the way. There are four games left in the regular season.
