The Denver Broncos made a host of roster moves on Saturday, including and most notably placing running back J.K. Dobbins on injured reserve. However, the Broncos were not done, also adding several players to their game-day roster for Week 11.
The Broncos have an admittedly significant matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on deck.
Headlining the day of additions for the Broncos are veteran linebacker Garret Wallow and tight end Marcedes Lewis.

“Denver activated linebacker Garret Wallow from injured reserve and promoted cornerback Reese Taylor from the practice squad to the active roster,” DenverBroncos.com’s Aric DiLalla wrote on November 15.
“Denver also elevated tight end Marcedes Lewis and inside linebacker Jordan Turner for the Week 11 matchup.”
Wallow has been with the Broncos since the preseason.
A former fifth-round pick (No. 170 overall) of the Houston Texans in the 2021 draft, he has also spent time with the Tennessee Titans. Wallow, 26, has appeared in five games for the Broncos this season, playing exclusively on special teams.
The Broncos signed Lewis to their practice squad before Week 9 against the Texans, and the veteran has been called up in each of the last two games. He is now out of call-ups.
So, the Broncos must sign him to the 53-man roster to use him again.
Lewis – a former Chicago Bear, Green Bay Packer, and Jacksonville Jaguar – started for the Broncos in Week 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders, the same game in which Dobbins incurred his injury. Lewis, 41, has yet to catch a pass or even receive a target during his Broncos tenure.
Taylor (2024) and Turner (2025) are both former undrafted free agents who have seen time during games for the Broncos.
Broncos Cut Journeyman WR

Dobbins was not the only player the Broncos will not have, at least for the foreseeable future, in the RB’s case. The Broncos also cut veteran wide receiver Trent Sherfield, who was primarily a special teamer, but did catch three passes for 21 yards in his 10 games played.
Sherfield, 29, is another former UDFA. He has played for the Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, and San Francisco 49ers.
The Broncos boast a deep wide receiver room.
Courtland Sutton headlines a group that also features recent draft picks in Marvin Mims, Pat Bryant, and Troy Franklin. Keeping a player like Sherfield, who is essentially a specialist, is a luxury the Broncos felt they could not keep on the roster.
It remains to be seen if the Broncos attempt to bring Sherfield back as a member of their practice squad.
Broncos Share Hype Video for Chiefs Game

The roster moves are just a precursor for the Broncos. They have leaned into being a big contest against the Chiefs in Week 11. Denver even released a hype video noting that, if they want to win the AFC West, they must defeat the Chiefs.
“Nothing worth having is ever easy,” said the narrator in the video posted on X on November 15, which featured a nearly identical caption. “They don’t ask, ‘How?’ They ask, ‘How many?’ Seven straight weren’t handed to us. We took them, earned them, bled for them. Nd if we want this division, the task is direct.”
The Broncos split their meetings against the Chiefs in 2204.
However, they lost the first meeting. That was the only one in which Patrick Mahomes and the starters played, adding to the gravity of this contest.
