Following news that he was heading for injured reserve with a foot injury, J.K. Dobbins sent a powerful message to both his supporters and his detractors. The Denver Broncos got a glimmer of hope following their decision on Dobbins, too, which played right into his sentiments.
Dobbins is on a one-year contract with the Broncos, and both sides had interest in extending their partnership beyond this season.
Now, to see Dobbins tell it, his future may be uncertain, but it is far from dire.

The Broncos placed Dobbins on IR amid a slew of roster moves before facing the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11.
He is expected to miss the season, yet remains defiant even in the early stages of his recovery.
“For those who will count me out again… Thank you,” Dobbins said in a post on X on November 15. “For those who are with me on this ride… stick with me! You will love what God has planned next [blue and orange heart emojis].”
Dobbins also posted a message on his Instagram, in which he referred to himself as “Mr. Comeback.”
Dobbins has overcome multiple ligament and muscle tears, dating back to high school.
“Gods plans are always greater… I’ll be back,” Dobbins posted on Instagram on November 15, including pictures of himself coming out of the tunnel before a game and another warming up ahead of a contest. “#Mr.Comeback.”
Broncos Get Extra Motivation

The Broncos spoke openly about their desire to push for a Super Bowl berth this season before the campaign began. As unfortunate as it is in the interim, the Broncos did receive a glimmer of hope regarding Dobbins.
“The door is open for JK Dobbins to return this season — if the Broncos make it to the Super Bowl,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported in a post on X on November 15. “There was no fracture, just a small tear from the tackle, and doctors believe he could return if Denver advances that far.”
The Denver Post’s Luca Evans also reported on the possibility that Dobbins can return for a Broncos Super Bowl berth. That is in February, giving him roughly three months to recover.
Lisfranc injuries, which is what Dobbins has, can take up to a year or more for full recovery.
“I was told JK Dobbins had surgery already on a Lisfranc injury suffered against the Raiders,” CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson reported in a post on X on November 15. “He is expected to be out for the season.”
Dobbins’ plight has garnered public support from at least one Broncos teammate as they prepare to be without him the rest of the way.
Broncos OLB Nik Bonitto Sends Message to J.K. Dobbins

Dobbins, who was also vocal about his situation before his diagnosis, saw Broncos outside linebacker Nik Bonitto on both X and Instagram. On Instagram, Bonitto simply replied with a pair of praising hands emojis.
“We got yo back brudda [praying hands emoji],” Bonitto posted on X on November 15.
Bonitto and the Broncos’ first opportunity to win one for Dobbins is in Week 11 at home against the Chiefs.
Without Dobbins, the Broncos will rely on some combination of rookie second-round pick RJ Harvey, former Baltimore Ravens sixth-rounder Tyler Badie, and former undrafted free agent Jaleel McLaughlin.
