Browns Coach Drops 4-Word Praise of Quinshon Judkins After Week 3 Win

The Cleveland Browns pulled off a stunning 13-10 upset win over the Green Bay Packers, and a key reason why was rookie running back Quinshon Judkins.

Judkins was the feature back for Cleveland as he rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. It was a great performance from the rookie running back, and after the game, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski praised him, saying he’s ‘only going to get better.’

“Yeah, it was awesome. You know, he’s a volume runner. Knew that he gets better with touches. He gets his first touchdown, which I’m excited for him, but he’s only going to get better,” Stefanski said about Judkins after the game.

It was a solid performance from Judkins, who helped extend drives for the Browns and put them in a position to upset the Packers at home.

Judkins will continue to be Cleveland’s feature back going forward and should help the Browns have a solid running game.

Judkins Praises Browns Offensive Line

Although Judkins is getting a lot of praise for his performance, he credits the offensive line.

The rookie running back says they did a good job creating holes and limiting the pass rush against a stellar Packers defensive line.

“I would say, our O-Line does a great job. As the game goes on, throughout those quarters, once you get a feel for what the defense is doing, it becomes a lot easier,” Judkins said.

Judkins’ longest run of the day was for 38 yards as he was able to be an explosive runner. The rookie running back says the team was on the same page all week and did what Stefanski wanted them to do.

“Great game,” Judkins said. “I think overall, what coach harped on as far as what we need to do to come out with the win on Sunday, we did that as a team collectively… I think as a team, continue to play physical, fast and have great communication and be on the same page, I think that pays off.”

Judkins also added one catch for one yard.

Joel Bitonio Praises Judkins, Rookies

Judkins has taken a stranglehold of the Browns’ running back job, and veteran guard Joel Bitonio was impressed with him.

Bitonio has seen plenty, and he says Judkins and the other rookies are impressing him. He also says he knew he and the offensive line needed to create openings for Judkins.

“I kept telling the sideline that. ‘Hey, no matter how bad it’s been, we’re still in this game. We’re still in this game.’ It was 3-0 for the longest time, and we needed one good drive to come together. We had a couple, but penalties kept hurting us,” Bitonio said. “They are a good defense as well. They have made a lot of teams struggle. I think we’re starting to find our stride on some things. (Quinshon) Judkins, I think is going to be a good player. I think you see the cuts, you see the ability. I think (Dylan) Sampson, I think (Harold) Fannin – I think these guys are big play makers, and I think we need to give them a chance up front.”

The Browns will now take on the Detroit Lions in Week 4.
