Browns QB Deshaun Watson’s Wife Proposes Life-Changing Move

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has spent the early portion of his offseason in Italy with his wife, Jilly Anais Watson, and based on a recent social media post, the couple seems pretty taken with the idea of staying for good.

Anais shared a TikTok video joking that they should make the move permanent.

“Should we just move to Italy?” she asked Watson in the clip.

“We can’t move to Italy,” Watson responded, before the two exchanged a look that suggested the idea might not be entirely off the table. Anais also captioned the post, “Or maybe we can.”

The video quickly took off, drawing nearly 1 million views and hundreds of comments — including plenty from Browns fans.

“Should totally move and just take the money Cleveland already gave you and give the rest back so we can try to win, please,” one commenter wrote.

Others were more optimistic about Watson’s future in Cleveland.

“You guys can’t move! He about to be the QB1 this fall! The greatest comeback story ever! Woof,” another fan said.

Watson is under contract with the Browns for one more season. As it stands, he has nearly $100 million still owed to him by Cleveland due to restructures and void years added.

Deshaun Watson Will ‘Have Shot’ With Browns

Watson missed all of last season recovering from a twice-torn Achilles. He returned to practice for three weeks in December but was not activated to the 53-man roster. Watson is expected to be fully healthy for the start of next season and will have a new head coach when he returns. The Browns recently hired Todd Monken to replace Kevin Stefanski.

Cleveland still hasn’t committed to a starting quarterback for next season, and there are more moving pieces that need to fall into place. But Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot believes Monken is a fan of Watson’s game — and that the veteran could still fit the mold of what the new head coach is looking for.

“One thing I do know is that Todd Monken was on the opposite sideline when Deshaun Watson, in Baltimore, came off the bench with a bad ankle and fractured shoulder and beat the Baltimore Ravens 33-31 in that game. He knows what Deshaun Watson is capable of when healthy,” Cabot said on 92.3 The Fan. “And we also know this about Todd Monken: he’s about the mobile, dual-threat quarterback. Can Deshaun Watson even run anymore like that, coming off two ruptured Achilles? We don’t know the answer to that. But he will have a chance.”

New Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Meets Todd Monken

While Watson is abroad, Shedeur Sanders was at the facility to meet Monken this week. Monken, who was previously the Ravens’ offensive coordinator, referenced that Sanders was on his radar last year in the draft.

“We tried to draft your (expletive) last year for God’s sakes,” Monken said. “It’s all worked out. Do you remember that?”

Sanders appears to be the leading candidate to be the starting quarterback heading into next season. However, Browns general manager Andrew Berry declined to back Sanders for the role at the end of the season.

“I think we saw a lot of progress with Shedeur this year. I think that’s both mentally, physically, playing the position. He’s still very much a work in progress like many rookie quarterbacks are,” Berry said. “Now that all being said, we’re going to do our work on the quarterback market. It’s too important of a position and it’s something that has to be solidified. I can’t sit here and tell you today, you know, whether the solution for or the starter in 2026 is internal or external. But it’s something that we’re going to work through over the next several weeks. And quite honestly, the new head coach will also have a lot of input into that as well.”

The Browns will also have Dillon Gabriel under contract and are expected to explore their options in the draft, free agency, and trades.
