Unfortunately, Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sandersâ father, Deion Sanders, has been dealing with some health issues.Â
Deion, one of the greatest NFL players of all time, has dealt with blood clot problems in the past. It remains uncertain what he’s dealing with right now, as ESPN reported that Sanders is dealing with an unspecified health issue.
When speaking, Deion Sanders Jr., one of his other sons, recently provided an excellent update on his father’s health, adding that he’s getting back to moving and that âGod is great.â
âItâs a beautiful thing,â Deion Sanders Jr. said, per USA Today. âCoach Prime back active, moving around. God is great. Not back active moving around, but itâs progress.â
According to a report from USA Today’s Brent Schrotenboer, Sanders has missed several youth athletic camps in Colorado over the past few weeks to months. He added that this was part of his employment contract for Colorado, but with health issues playing a part, it’s tough to blame him for not being where he needs to be.Â
âSanders Sr. has been away from his job in Colorado since April and did not attend Coloradoâs annual youth and high school camps in June, even though operating such camps is listed in his employment contract as one of his official duties.
âThe timing of his return to campus remains unclear. This is usually a dead time of year for head coaches in college football, but he is due to make an appearance at a Big 12 Conference media event in Frisco, Texas, on July 9,â he wrote.
How Will This Impact Shedeur Sanders?
It’s tough to see Sanders deal with something of this magnitude, and it surely has to have an impact on his son with the Cleveland Browns. However, when posting on social media recently, Sanders made sure to let his supporters know that he’s feeling better and appreciates their well wishes.Â
“Wow, I am truly blessed for the abundance of well wishes, for all the thoughts and all of the prayers. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I can assure you all that everything is OKAY and will continue to be so. God got me like no other. I have so much more work to do to Glorify God so please believe God got me! I’m excited to get back to Colorado to be at home with my staff, team & all associated to our program. When we arrive back to Boulder you will be updated on everything,” Sanders posted on social media.
After coaching both of his sons at Colorado, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, some had speculated that Sanders could leave Colorado.Â
However, that isnât expected to be the case, and the Buffaloes are hoping to have another improved season next year.Â
Coloradoâs Outlook With Coach Prime
After improving in his second year as the head coach at Colorado, expectations are for the team to continue improving. That might not be easy with losing multiple star players, but Sanders is an attraction and will eventually get top recruits if Colorado can continue to get better.Â
But more importantly, health is bigger than anything in this situation. While the football stuff is great, it’s more important that Sanders is healthy and able to live his best life.
