The Cleveland Browns were riding high after picking up a big win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 7, but they came crashing back down to earth in Week 8. That was thanks in large part to the New England Patriots, who continued their recent tour de force by handing the Browns a 32-13 loss on Sunday afternoon.
While Cleveland kept things competitive in the first half, it quickly fell apart in the second half, indicating that there are some areas on the team that need to be improved. With that in mind, the front office made a pair of under-the-radar moves involving their practice squad on Monday, with one move seeing a former All-SEC tight end, who is also a TikTok star, get brought into town.

Much of the Browns’ 2025 season has been defined by their quarterback situation. With Dillon Gabriel taking over under center, the hope from the team was that he would show he’s capable of becoming the team’s quarterback of the future. Through four games as a starter, though, Gabriel hasn’t looked much better than Joe Flacco, the guy he ended up replacing.
With its quarterback situation so uncertain, Cleveland has to do everything it can to keep the rest of the roster in as good of shape as possible. That led to the team signing tight end Caden Prieskorn on Monday morning. After spending time with the Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers so far this year, Prieskorn will get a shot to carve out a role for himself with the Browns.
Of course, when one player comes to town, that typically means another one is shown the exit door. In this case, that player was running back Ahmani Marshall, who had spent the entire season to this point with the Browns’ practice squad. With both guys going undrafted in 2025, it simply seems like the front office is giving Prieskorn a shot to see what sort of upside he’s got.
“The Cleveland Browns have signed TE Caden Prieskorn to the practice squad. To make room on the roster, the team released RB Ahmani Marshall from the practice squad,” the team announced on its official website.
Browns Looking to Get Healthy During Bye Week in Week 9

There’s no doubt that both Prieskorn and Marshall are guys that the Browns aren’t expecting to contribute anytime soon. The goal with keeping certain players on the practice squad is to provide an extra layer of depth at a certain position, or to see if a prospect with potential can develop in their system.
After already spending time with three different teams this season, Prieskorn will be given a shot to see if he can find his way with Cleveland. He’s coming in at a bit of an odd time, as the Browns are on a bye week in Week 9, meaning it will be a slower week for the team as a whole. It won’t be long, though, before they are preparing for their upcoming Week 10 contest against the New York Jets.
