Browns Star Myles Garrett Sends Message to Cam Ward Ahead of Titans Game

The 2025 NFL season is more or less over for the Cleveland Browns, with the struggling franchise sporting a disappointing 3-9 record heading into Week 14’s matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

With the Browns’ chances of making the NFL playoffs being out of the question at this point in the 2025 campaign, the attention has turned to the individual success of superstar defensive end Myles Garrett, who is on the cusp of making NFL history.

Garrett is on the verge of breaking the record for sacks in a season, as he leads the league in the category with 19 and is quickly approaching New York Giants legend Michael Strahan’s record of 22.5, with only five games left in the regular season.

Ahead of the matchup with the one-win Titans, Garrett was asked whether he’ll be trying to break the record against one of the worst teams in the league this season, with a rookie quarterback, Cam Ward, under center for Tennessee.

“I’ll go for four, but I respect that team over there and what they can do,” Garrett said during media availability. “So, I’ve got to make sure we stop the run and earn four opportunities, in which I can make that happen.”

Ward has been sacked more than any quarterback in the NFL this season, going down 48 times before facing arguably the best pass rusher in the league.

Garrett was asked whether he’s licking his chops with the prospect of getting to Ward during Sunday’s game at Huntington Bank Field. The superstar defensive end made it clear that he’s always thinking that way, no matter the quarterback he’s going up against.

“I lick my chops against anybody. So, it’s no different here.”

Although four sacks is a tall order, Garrett is playing on another level right now and could very well be the all-time sacks leader once the dust settles on Sunday in Cleveland.

Browns QB Deshaun Watson Returns to Practice

Along with Garrett on the verge of breaking Strahan’s record for sacks in a season, veteran quarterback Deshaun Watson is nearing his return to the field, as he was able to practice this week.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski recently spoke about Watson returning to practice, even though the veteran gunslinger has already been ruled out for Week 14, with Shedeur Sanders expected to make another start.

“He’ll be out there today, which is outstanding for Deshaun,” Stefanski said. “He’s has been working so hard, rehabbing, so finally to get out there on the practice field with his teammates to go through individual, I think this is really great for him. So, excited for him. His focus, my focus is obviously getting him back to playing football, practicing football, which he hasn’t done in over a year. So, it’s a good next step for him.”

Sanders has played in three games so far this season, throwing for 405 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, with a completion percentage of 50.8.

The rookie quarterback will get at least one more start to prove his worth, with Watson likely on the verge of returning sooner rather than later.
