Browns Star Myles Garrett Snaps After Loss to Steelers

Cleveland Browns superstar defensive end Myles Garrett didn’t mince words after a 23-9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Browns couldn’t keep up with the AFC North-leading Steelers, falling behind early and never recovering. Costly penalties, sloppy execution, and a stagnant offense with no big-play spark left Cleveland chasing the game from start to finish.

After falling to 1-5, Garrett is sick of seeing the same story play out week after week.

“It’s frustrating,” a visibly upset Garrett said after the loss. “To lose the same way every time is frustrating as hell.”

Garrett was also asked if it’s getting harder for him to get fired up for games with the losses piling up. He delivered a one-word response.

“Yeah,” Garrett said.

Browns DE Myles Garrett Wants to Play for Contender

Garrett demanded a trade this offseason, saying he wanted to play for a contender and compete for the Super Bowl.

“As a kid dreaming of the NFL, all I focused on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl — and that goal fuels me today more than ever,” Garrett wrote in his public trade demand posted on social media in February. “While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl.”

Cleveland has some solid rookies, but they have shown little promise that they’re ready to do that any time soon.

The Browns made a pair of trades this week, sending veteran quarterback Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals and starting cornerback Greg Newsome to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Garrett still feels the franchise is committed to winning despite being active in the trade market.

“I think winning’s definitely still at the forefront of what we want to do,” Garrett said.

Browns Star Myles Garrett Shut Out Again in Loss to Steelers

Garrett was held without a sack for a third straight week against the Steelers. He registered just two tackles in the loss.

“They stopped us as a D-line front, got in chunk formations. They chipped after [Aaron Rodgers] got the ball out,” Garrett said. “There weren’t a lot of situations where, even if I was running butt-(expletive) naked, I could’ve gotten there.”

Garrett watched as the Steelers pinned their ears back with the Browns looking to overcome a hefty deficit late. Pittsburgh had six sacks in the matchup. Cornerback Jalen Ramsey had two, as did linebacker Nick Herbig.

“Must be nice,” Garrett said.

Garrett and the Browns will look to get back on track next week against the struggling Miami Dolphins, who also enter the matchup with a 1-5 record. Miami fell to the Chargers on Sunday, 29-27.

The Browns will hit the road for a Week 8 matchup against the New England Patriots before entering their bye week. The trade deadline, which follows the Browns’ bye week on Nov. 4, could lead to further changes in Cleveland.
