Manchester United players are ‘fuming’ over the post-season Asian tour but Bruno Fernandes made a classy gesture to help improve the mood.
United travelled to Kuala Lumpur after their horrific 2024-25 campaign, which saw them finish 15th in the Premier League without a trophy.
The Red Devils suffered an embarrassing 1-0 defeat to ASEAN All-Stars on Wednesday before Ruben Amorim’s side beat Hong Kong 3-1 on Friday.
Most of the United squad are furious over the post-season tour at a time when they could have been on family holidays, according to The Times.
But United captain Fernandes, strongly linked with a transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, reportedly made a nice gesture to cheer players up.

After the shocking loss to ASEAN All-Stars, some United players and staff went to a hotel bar, with Fernandes deciding to pay for their drinks all night.
Is Bruno Fernandes leaving Man Utd this summer?

It is thought that Fernandes’s future has been a ‘hot topic’ among players and staff during the tour and opinion is split on whether he’ll stay or go.
Saudi club Al-Hilal are prepared to hand Fernandes an eye-watering £700,000-a-week, which would be tax-free, as part of a package worth up to an incredible total of £200m to the Portuguese star over three years.
If Fernandes accepts the lucrative offer, it is reported Al-Hilal will make a formal approach to United with a bid in the region of £100m.
But United head coach Amorim is confident Fernandes hasn’t played his last game for United amid speculation he’s contemplating a summer exit.

Speaking after the 3-1 friendly win over Hong Kong, Amorim was asked if United fans had seen the last of their skipper in action and said: ‘I don’t think so, I don’t know for sure. Nobody knows but I don’t think so.
‘I think he is seeing us taking some actions to change all the things and I think he saw that and I think he wants to stay.
‘He is saying no to a lot of things but he shows he wants to win. He’s really young (30), he’s really good, he needs to be in the best league in the world.’
Quizzed if United, who will play no European football next season, were in a position to turn down a huge offer for the midfielder, Amorim added: ‘Yes, we can find another way to earn money.’
Man Utd urged to accept offer for Bruno Fernandes
Fernandes’ United teammates have been begging him to stay with concerns that the dressing room would ‘fall apart’ if he is sold.
But football pundit and former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp firmly believes United should offload Fernandes to help rebuild the squad.
‘I think he’s a game-changer but I think if the right money came about and you could then invest into the squad,’ Redknapp explained.
‘I would certainly take it.’
