Bucks Talented Guard Making Strong Case For Most Improved Award

The Milwaukee Bucks have a young and talented guard who has quickly made a name for himself this season.

Ryan Rollins has stepped into a prominent role for the Bucks and the 23-year-old has steadily become a household name across the league.

He’s having the type of season that can put him in talks for the Most Improved Player award. Earlier this season, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers, shared his thought on Rollins performance on the court.

“Oh, he’s been great. He’s been great. Learns every day. You know, he’s still young. Still young in minutes, too. Kid is tough, and he’s coachable, and he’s probably the hardest worker on our team. So, he’s got a lot going for him,” Rivers said.

Ryan Rollins, Bucks Surprise Star

Through 34 games this season, Rollins is averaging 17 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game. He’s one of the top players on the team in scoring and assists per game.

Rollins has made an exceptional jump from last season. During the 2024-25 season, he averaged 6.2 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.9 rebounds a game. He appeared in a total of 56 games, making 19 starts. This season, Rollins has already started in more games than he has in his entire career at 29 and he will set a career-high in games played.

On the court, Rollins has displayed a ton of confidence and has proven that he can score in multiple ways. He’s also shown that he has no issue with the ball in his hands and knows how to find open teammates.

Back in October, he scored a career-high 32 points against the Golden State Warriors. He went on to tie his career-high the next month against the Philadelphia 76ers. Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has enjoyed watching Rollins play this season.

“I’ve been in the NBA 13 years. I’ve had 200-300 teammates. A jump for a guy that came two years ago to a two-way contract, non-guaranteed, a guaranteed deal, to the player he is today. I don’t think I’ve seen a jump like that in my career,” Antetokounmpo told Michael Scotto.

Ryan Rollins, a Legit Candidate for Most Improved Award

Though it’s early in the season, there’s no question that Rollins has made a legit case to be in the conversation for Most Improved. He has complimented Antetokounmpo real well so far this season and on the court Rollins takes some pressure off the Bucks big man, especially on the offensive end.

In July of 2025, Rollins signed a 3-year deal with the Bucks that was worth $12 million. Milwaukee saw the impact that Rollins could have and he’s not proving them wrong.

Going from a second-round pick to a significant role player, Rollins worked hard to get to where he is today. In his first few years in the league, he did not see much playing time and part of that was due to injuries. Now that he’s with the Bucks, he’s had a chance to prove himself and show that he belongs in the league.

Rollins has the potential to have a successful career in the league.
