Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik has a major fan in longtime girlfriend Macey Matthews. As Clemson takes on LSU to kickoff the year in a battle of Tigers, Matthews took to Instagram to celebrate the first gameday of the college football season.
“First home game,” Matthews posted to her Instagram Story on August 30, 2025, just hours before kickoff of the LSU-Clemson game.
Matthews posted a photo of herself and friends standing on a balcony of what appeared to be a sorority house with banners supporting Clemson hanging over the railing.

Prior to the college football season, the couple celebrated a friend’s wedding. Matthews posted a photo of herself and the Clemson quarterback decked out in their dress clothes for the wedding.
“Sweetest weekend celebrating The Davises !!! 🤍,” Matthews noted in a July 27, Instagram post.
The couple’s relationship appears to date back to high school. Klubnik posted prom photos back in 2022.
“Back in the Texas heat. #Prom2022,” Klubnik said in the May 16, 2022, Instagram message.
The Couple Enjoys Spending Time Together in Nature
When Klubnik is not busy being one of the best quarterbacks in college football, the star enjoys spending time with his girlfriend. Back in 2024, Matthews posted photos of herself and Klubnik enjoying life with a trip to the mountains.

Clemson QB Cade Klubnik Predicted To Be a Top-3 Pick in the 2026 NFL Draft
Klubnik may soon be playing football in a new city. The Clemson star is projected to be a potenial top-three draft pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
ESPN’s Field Yates’ early projections predict that the New Orleans Saints will select Klubnik with the No. 3 pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
“Klubnik would become the first quarterback taken in the first round by the Saints since Archie Manning in 1971,” Yates wrote in his August 20, NFL mock draft. “New Orleans bypassed the position at No. 9 in April, but it’d be hard to do it again in the top five next year.
“Klubnik is a mechanically sound and accurate passer who accounted for 43 total touchdowns during his breakout 2024 season (36 passing, seven rushing). He lacks elite size at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, but he’d offer the Saints some stability at QB as they reset their roster.”
