Canelo vs. Crawford Fight Card Order & Bout List

One of the biggest fights in recent boxing history is upon us, with Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford set to throw down in Las Vegas as the main event of a jam-packed fight card on Sept. 13.

Undoubtedly, the sports world will have its eyes glued to the screen for the late-night bout between two of the greatest of their generation, as Netflix continues its foray into live sports. The main event is a wildly intriguing showdown between legends, including one in Crawford who is going up two weight classes to fight Alvarez, an undisputed world champion.

That title bout will take its rightful spot in the main event, and it will be the culmination of a huge night of boxing from Allegiant Stadium in Sin City.

Here’s the full undercard and main card for Sept. 13.

Light heavyweight: Steven Nelson (20-1, 16 KOs) vs. Raiko Santana (12-4, 6 KOs)

Prelim match to watch: Dychko vs. Franklin

Fight fans know Franklin’s name in part because of two high-profile losses. He main-evented an April 1, 2023 card in London against former heavyweight champion of the world Anthony Joseph. Franklin took Joseph the distance but lost a unanimous decision. A year earlier, a previously undefeated Franklin lost another main event in London, this time via majority decision. Some believed Franklin should have been awarded the fight, including Franklin himself who argued he was “robbed” by the decision.

He’ll have his work cut out for him against Dychko, who is actually a slight favorite. The southpaw, a two-time Olympic bronze medalist, is a slight -130 favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Canelo vs. Crawford main card

When: Sept. 13, 9 p.m. ET
TV/stream: Netflix

Lightweight: Mohammed Alakel (5-0, 1 KO) vs. John Ornelas (5-2-1, 2 KOs)

Super welterweight: Callum Walsh (14-0, 11 KOs) vs. Fernando Vargas Jr. (17-0, 15 KOs)

Unified super middleweight title bout: Canelo Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) vs. Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs)

With Crawford having to up two divisions, it’s not a huge surprise that Alvarez is the current betting favorite, in the neighborhood of -175 (per DraftKings).

ESPN’s Mark Kriegel, though, explained why Crawford is so motivated to take this fight, a spectacle brokered by Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh.

“Crawford looks to Canelo as his white whale, something he was stalking long before that meeting with Alalshikh: an existential corrective for everything he believes has afflicted his career, an answer for every slight going back to the amateurs, from fighters who wouldn’t fight him to promoters who failed to promote him, a source of eternal respect and stature,” Kriegel wrote. “But only if he wins.”

Alvarez admitted it’s one of the biggest fights of his career, but for Crawford, it could define his entire career.

“Well, anybody can be a nobody. And for what everybody say, I haven’t fought anybody,” he said at the press conference. “So come Saturday we’re going to all see.”
