The Dallas Cowboys have high hopes for the 2025 campaign. While they are currently dealing with some more contract drama involving superstar linebacker Micah Parsons, the top-end talent on this team is still quite high. On offense, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb will be tasked with working alongside quarterback Dak Prescott and his new partner-in-crime, George Pickens, to help take the offense to another level after their disappointing season in 2024.
By now, it’s abundantly clear that Lamb is one of the top wide receivers in the NFL, and he’s been getting some work against the Cowboys’ cornerback room during training camp. When asked about that group, though, Lamb provided a worrying answer that will certainly catch the attention of fans, especially amid Parsons’ ongoing contract holdout.
CeeDee Lamb Bashes the Cowboys’ Cornerback Room
Dallas selected Lamb with the No. 17 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and he quickly became a crucial piece of their offense. Lamb has earned four-straight Pro Bowl selections, while also landing on the All-Pro First Team in 2023 when he caught a league-leading 135 passes for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Lamb wasn’t as effective in 2024, but he still managed to catch 101 passes for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns, which are certainly not numbers to scoff at. Considering how he was forced to play without Prescott for half of the season, while also missing a pair of games due to injury himself, that’s a fairly impressive campaign for the former Oklahoma Sooners star.
When considering all of that, it’s clear that Lamb is a tough guy to cover, meaning that the Cowboys’ cornerbacks have been getting some serious work in so far in training camp. If you ask Lamb, though, he hasn’t been getting challenged by any of Dallas’ defenders, saying that nobody has managed to make his life difficult on the field yet.
“CeeDee Lamb when asked which Cowboys DBs have given him hell in training camp: ‘Honestly, none of them. They haven’t given me hell. But I will say, it is great competing with these guys,’” Jon Machota of The Athletic shared in a post on X.
Should the Cowboys Be Concerned About CeeDee Lamb’s Comments?

As we’ve already established, Lamb is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, so there aren’t many guys who can give him trouble on the field. Beyond that, Dallas is missing a pair of their top cornerbacks, Trevon Diggs and third-round rookie Shavon Revel Jr., which has thrust more inexperienced guys into the action. Unsurprisingly, Lamb has been torching them so far in training camp.
Should this be a concern for the Cowboys? It says a lot that Lamb is openly calling out their secondary, but again, he’s very good at what he does. Maybe Lamb is trying to motivate this group in order to get the best out of them. Things will look different once Diggs, in particular, returns, but for now, Dallas’ cornerback room isn’t looking all that good as they gear up for their preseason opener against the Los Angeles Rams.
