Chargers Rookie Ratings for Madden 26 Revealed

A

new football season means that a new edition of the Madden NFL series is set to release.  On August 14, EA Sports’ ‘Madden NFL 26’ will hit the shelves worldwide, where fans of the game will get their first opportunity to play as some of NFL’s best young stars. From the first overall pick all the way to the last overall pick, the league’s newest players will make their Madden debuts.

And with the game nearing its release, player ratings are starting to be revealed– including the rookie ratings for the Los Angeles Chargers. On July 30th, the Madden NFL 26 website released the ratings for the Chargers’ rookies– with some players rated lower than anyone would have expected.

Chargers’ Rookie Ratings

First round draft pick, Omarion Hampton, is rated as a 77 to start off and did not crack the top 10 for NFL rookies– missing the cut by one overall point. But Hampton, who brings a lot of upside, is the type of player who could develop quickly and could find himself in the top half of the rookie ratings at some point in the season. Second round pick, Tre Harris, earned a rating of 72 overall. Below, is the full list of the Chargers’ rookie ratings.

RB Omarion Hampton: 77

WR Tre Harris: 72

DT Jamaree Caldwell: 70

WR KeAndre Lambert-Smith: 70

OLB Kyle Kennard: 69

RB Raheim Sanders: 69

TE Oronde Gadsden: 68

S R.J. Mickens: 67

DB Trikweze Bridges: 67

G Branson Taylor: 65

CB Nikko Reed: 64

OLB Garmon Randolph: 63

G Nash Jones: 62

DT TeRah Edwards: 62

CB Jordan Oladokun: 61

TE Stevo Klutz: 58

Klutz’s 58 overall is not the lowest rating for a rookie in the game, but it is very close. New England Patriots rookie quarterback, Ben Woolridge, received the lowest rating for a rookie with a 57 overall.

Chargers Outlook for this Season

Coming off an 11-6 season in the first season under Jim Harbaugh, expectations for the Chargers this season are high. While the team underwent some changes, they made sure to add weapons to key spots– especially on offense. Adding guys like Hampton and Harris, the Chargers also brought in running back Najee Harris and are expecting to see big leaps from young wide receivers Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston.

But as is the case every season, the Chargers are in arguably the hardest division in football to win. Dominated by the Kansas City Chiefs for nine straight seasons, the AFC West is a very competitive division, with teams like the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders also improving drastically this season in an effort to win the division. But if Harbaugh has taught us anything during his time as a football coach, it’s to never count his teams out.
