The Los Angeles Chargers get to play in a fourth preseason game ahead of the 2025-26 season by participating in the Hall of Fame game. The Bolts beat the Detroit Lions by 27 points at the end of July.
The Chargers’ 2025 NFL Draft offensive weapons were able to showcase their talents in the NFL for the first time.
22nd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Omarion Hampton saw 2 rushes for 9 yards in his preseason debut in one drive. Fifth-round pick KeAndre Lambert-Smith impressed by leading the Chargers in receiving yards and catching a pass TD. Sixth-round selection Oronde Gadsden, a tight end from Syracuse, was able to bring in 7 yards on one reception.
Things went decent for 3 of the 4 new additions, except for the 55th overall pick, wide receiver Tre Harris.
With his performance, Chargers Wire’s Spencer Schultz urges Harris to improve in his second preseason game against an NFC South opponent.
Taking On The New Orleans Saints

The former Ole Miss Rebel saw one target in the Hall of Fame game but had no receptions.
“Don’t worry, Harris will be on the roster no matter what. With that being said, he will have to show more in the preseason if he wants to see immediate playing time. That holds particularly true after the signing of Keenan Allen earlier in the week,” Schultz wrote.
“While Allen provides leadership and depth to the wide receiver room, it will also come at the cost of someone else’s playing time. As of now, that person looks to be the second-round rookie, Harris. He was held without a catch on just one target. Now, none of this is to say there should be concerns about Harris, as he will get more comfortable as his first season goes on.”
Allen returns to the Chargers after playing with the Chicago Bears for a season. Despite playing in his 12th season in the NFL, Allen hauled in 744 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns last season, proving still a receiving threat to defenders.
While it is more than likely to remain after the 53-man trim down, with Allen’s return and two other incumbents, Harris wouldn’t see many snaps during the regular season.
Tre Harris Dealing With Issues At Practice

GettyLos Angeles Chargers third-round selection wide receiver Tre Harris.
Selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Tre Harris was a highly regarded prospect in the class. Harris put up over 1,000+ receiving yards and 7 touchdowns in his final collegiate season.
But recently, the former Rebel has been dealing with some dropping issues during practice.
“Harris hasn’t been bad by any means and remains on track to get a nice chunk of snaps in the base offense, no matter what happens with a possible Keenan Allen reunion,” The Athletic’s Daniel Popper wrote. “Harris, on the other hand, didn’t help himself during a recent practice session with multiple drops.”
Harris can use the preseason to clear up any rust or nerves and get them cleaned up before the start of the season.
If issues continue, Harris could have a low amount of production in his rookie year.
